My Wants Hollywood Hogan - Im fine with the head scan. He smiled a lot in his heel run which people are seeming to forget. The bandana looks a little on the bigger side, but I think it will be ok on the final product. A lot of people are complaining about the boa. Guys, its fine! It looks better than a feather boa would. The attire is outstanding and my personal favorite. Although I hope the final product has his face on the boots it will still look great. The weight belt obviously has to be changed to Hollywood, but other than that a solid figure which does deserve the Defining Moments spot. Its Hulk  ing Hogan! 8/10 GAB Surfer Sting - I love this figure. It is without a doubt a defining moment beating Flair and the best Surfer Sting attire to be chosen. The head scan I am bitter sweet about just because of the teeth grinding mouth. I don't know whether to like it or not. I think a smiling face would have better suited that appearance but just my opinion. The jacket... All I can do is just pray it isn't an SOB to get off like RSC Bret's. Great jacket appearance wise though. Overall a solid figure. Not insanely incredible, but really good. 8/10 Finn Balor - Holy ing ! The best figure shown at the event and it would be impossible to argue that. The head scan is really good and looks great with the face paint. The body paint is done perfectly and the wrist and head accessories add to how great it is. I am not really an NXT fan nor do I even watch it but this figure is a must have. The only flaw is the torso which obviously should be ripped. The dude's jacked! 9.5/10 |

Booooooo Hell lets get preorders for Balor figures please, that'll make up for the disappointment If the pre order for the Elite Balor goes up and I don't have money ready I'll forever hate myself |

Haven't bought a figure since August with no itch to go back to buying. However I'm impressed with some of the stuff they revealed this year. Maybe it's cause I don't collect anymore, but this doesn't seem that disappointing.
Did people really expect to see E39 and 40 today? We just saw 37 yesterday, why would they give us 4 new elite series in one showing?

I don't get the backlash toward the legends-focused collectors complaining about not getting what they wanted. Besides Jericho, there weren't a lot of specific names mentioned. Most said the lack of excitement was due more to variants of existing characters with Jimmy Hart being the only 1st time in the line choice.
Last year's SDCC featured a bit more diversity for Legends collectors with two Monday Night War era guys (Sting, X-Pac), Rock n Wrestling (Hogan, JYD) and New Generation (Razor and Doink). This year, the Monday Night Wars era got a lot more attention (Macho Man, Hollywood, Scott Hall, APA) and there wasn't as much for mid 80s to mid-90s collectors to be as excited about. That's not to say the GAB Sting, DiBiase, Hart and Bulldog were letdowns, it's just we were hoping to expand our ranks just like folks wanting Elite Kevin Owens, Elite PTP and the latest shirt color/pant combo Cena.

So is it safe to say that the Wrestlemania Elite BAF line is dead? Usually we would get a preview at SDCC... I was thinking the same thing. Looks like we're only getting that Basic BAF Bearer re-release now. Wouldn't surprise me since so many of the Elite BAF sets had major shelfwarmers. Kind of sad to see it go, but at the same time, if the BAF is something so pedestrian as Kane in a suit, maybe it's time. After all, we are getting J&J Security in the main line, and when they released Ricardo in Basic, it sold super well. 2015's climate is a lot different than 2010 or 2011. People have the main guys now, so non-active talent and NXT stars make sense to fill the void, so to speak. At least we're getting Seth - he's definitely the one to get from WM31. |
