I was able to get tomorrow afternoon off from work. Going to the Dan Akroyd bottle signing in Burlington!! Thanks for the heads up on that. As it happens, I have the day off work as well and this signing is only about a half hour away. I think I will stop by and meet Dan again. I'm hoping you don't need to buy a bottle to get any other items signed because I am pretty short on cash until next paycheck. I already have a signed bottle of Crystal Head when I met him a few years back. If you DO have to buy a bottle, then I will probably buy a bottle of his wine which is only about 20 bucks I believe. A bottle of Crystal Head is about 60 bucks, but there are bigger bottles than the one I've got. Much bigger. Should be a fun day. I'm going to head out soon and see how the turn out is.

So, I went to the Dan Aykroyd bottle signing in Burlington and got there very early at about 1:30. I believe I may have been the first person to show up but was the 7th person in line up when it started outside, as I wasn't sure if they were going to start the line inside the store or what.
I bought a bottle of his Cabernet/Shiraz wine for 15 bucks and got that signed plus 3 DVD covers that I had brought with me.
After waiting a while in line, these guys dressed exactly like The Blues Brothers driving the classic Blues mobile showed up and were taking pictures with everyone. They were awesome!!
The one guy looked exactly like John Belushi. It was uncanny how much he looked like him.
Dan eventually showed up around 5 I believe and started signing right away. I got my items signed and was done and went and got some lunch.
After that, I thought to myself, I may want to get back in line and try and get more items signed.
So, I did and it ended up being worth the wait as I got 3 more items signed plus my picture with him.
Dan was awesome. He was only advertised until 7 but ended up staying over 2 hours longer to make sure everyone was looked after.
He was there well past 9 for sure by the time I made it through the line again. I had the day off work and wanted to make a day out of it.
All the autographs were free, so why not take advantage of that?
It was a massive turnout, but well worth the wait in line.
Dan Aykroyd definitely cares about his fans and he proved that to me Friday night by staying over 2 hours longer.
I even thanked him for staying longer when I made it through the line a 2nd time and he thanked me for waiting that long.
If he was willing to stay and sign that entire time, then I was willing to wait in line all over again. It's the least I can do for a great legendary Canadian such as him.

So all of the TRU Expresses have closed down in Canada which means I am out of a job. However I just had an interview at the TRU on queen and west drive and will most likely get the job. Fingers crossed.

So like I previously mentioned, I met Booker T at the Destiny Wrestling show tonight. A few surprise guests were at the show. Justin Gabriel ended up wrestling at the show, and Robbie McAllister (of The Highlanders) was in attendance. I sat like two feet away from Robbie lol. I thought it was great that he was at the show as a member of the audience because I could get him to sign my encyclopedia. Booker T did not sign autographs before the show so I had to wait until intermission. I grabbed a seat next to A-Rock and we chatted for a bit. We had a plan to get to the merch stand during the last match before intermission so that we could be one of the first to meet Booker. This was a good plan considering that a long line formed once intermission was announced. Minutes after intermission started, Booker finally came out and started signing. Autographs were only $10, and photo-ops were $20. I thought the prices were great so I ended up getting three items signed, as well as a photo-op (thanks for taking the pic A-Rock!) for $50. I first handed Booker my red paint marker to get my WCW figure signed. I wasn't planning to get this signed, but when I found out that he was only charging $10, I decided to bring it along with me. He signed it and inscribed "5x" without even being asked, which was cool: He then signed my encyclopedia.. He is autograph #66 in it: Lastly, he signed my WHC Commemorative Belt and also inscribed it "5x". I think the belt looks awesome.. Its signed by Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Bret Hart, and now Booker T. After he signed my items, we posed for a picture and I left his table. A-Rock and I parted ways as he left to go home, and I went to get more autographs. I was hoping Justin Gabriel would sign during intermission so that I could get him in a program, but he wasn't, so I ended up looking for Robbie McAllister instead. After a while of searching the crowd for a guy in a kilt, I finally found him. He was walking around, and I quickly stopped him to get him to sign my encyclopedia. He was happy to do so when I asked. He signed my encyclopedia (autograph #67!) and we posed for a picture. Like Booker, Robbie was awesome! Like usual, I brought some items for Santino to sign lol.. When I approached him, he yelled "I've met you before!" and he signed my stuff. I was able to get a program and two magazines signed by him:

Awesome stuff champ. Glad to see Booker was cool. He was awesome when I met him at Fanexpo a few years back. Also I wonder if mysterio will be at the hamilton convention as well since it's the same weekend he will be appearing for destiny wrestling.

Cool stuff Champ! I'll probably go to a show at Santino's gym one day. I met the Dudley Boyz at a TNA house show in 2008 and i'll probably meet them at House Of Hardcore in a few weeks (will be buying my ticket in the coming days) and I got burned by Mysterio a few times but I still wanna meet him so that's possible.

That is a greet question but he charges a lot per appearence so it's debatable.

I wouldn't even attempt to try and meet Rey Mysterio again because the first time I tried still leaves me in a bad mood.
While he was still with WWE and this was many years ago now, he appeared at a local Toys R Us doing an autograph signing. This drew many, many fans.
He was scheduled to sign for 2 hours and I heard from security while waiting in line, he was getting $100,000 per hour for appearing.
Whether or not that's true, I have no idea, but he was still with WWE then and a HUGE draw, so I really wouldn't doubt it.
Anyway, while waiting out in the scorching heat that day along with hundreds of other anxious fans, we came to learn that he left early and hundreds of us who waited hours in line were turned away and left disappointed.
He was scheduled for 2 hours and didn't even stay the entire time and hundreds of us were snubbed.
We waited for hours outside in the heat and for what?
I will NEVER waste my time meeting that a$$hole ever again. F*ck him.
It takes one bad experience to sour me forever and brother, that was it.
He proved he didn't give a sh*t about his fans that day. I will never be a fan of that loser again.
He lost my respect and I'm sure many others as well and rightfully so.
He collected a huge payday, left early and snubbed hundreds of his fans that day. I feel sorry for anyone who is a fan of that dirt bag.

I've heard of Rey doing stuff like that before at signings. I watched a YouTube video where he showed up 2 hours late to a signing.

I did a Google search and this signing was in Vaughan on September 8, 2007.
I believe he may have been World champion at that time. Thus being a HUGE draw, in high demand and getting huge paydays.
If he was World champion at that time, then I can totally see him getting huge money for appearing that day.
He certainly didn't deserve it, that's for sure. He's a piece of trash.

I was there and remember that day, it was at Vaughn Mills and TRU had recently opened. I showed up early and there was a massive line that ended going the length of the mall, they handed out different color wristbands with some people guaranteed to meet him and others had a chance. They told certain people they had no chance of meeting him so some people left. Long story short like you said the security came out and shouted "The Wrestler has left" and it was way before he was scheduled to stop signing and alot of people were pissed. Another WWE Canada signing gone wrong.
