15. Brock Lesnar – AWE - Robert69The AWE’s existence has been short, but Brock Lesnar is the man to make the most impact so far. He made Hulk Hogan’s first choice of Randy Orton look ridiculous by dispatching him minutes, and then closed the inaugural episode of
Raucous by clearing the ring of all superstars and security staff. He’s the one to watch in the World Title Tournament.
14. Alex Riley – GWA - Old ZekeThe surprise package of GWA has been the man known as Alex Riley. Since the inaugural episode of
Main Event, Riley has revitalised his career and has shown that he still has something to prove in the wrestling world. With rumours circulating of GWA undergoing a revamp, it is not sure where Alex Riley fits in all this. Speculation is rife that there are owners of other wrestling promotions looking to snap Alex Riley up should be not be a part of the GWA’s plans going forward.
13. Evan Bourne - BWR - deskjet / TWhen a new show debuts, people are always keen to see who the big start of that show may be. For the BWR’s new
Unbreakable brand, that star was Evan Bourne, who put in an impressive showing against Fandango in the main event of the debut episode. How far Bourne can go in the North American Championship Tournament remains to be seen, but on this showing he will take some stopping.
12. Dolph Ziggler - XWE - @jackedupppsn13Somehow, The Show-Off was able the still show off his XWE World Title after a Fatal-4-Way at XWE’s
WrestleMania III. Brock Lesnar dominated a match that also contained Cesaro and Chris Hero, but Ziggler once again showed why he is the champion with an opportunistic Zig-Zag to pick up the win. He may have an angry beast after him, but he’s still the XWE Champion.
11. Sting - NWA - @wwerredge404Similar to Evan Bourne’s situation on
BWR Unbreakable, Sting was a standout star from the NWA’s debut episode of
Superstars. Already with a belt around his waist, Sting proved why he is the champion with a solid win over Edge. Sting had better continue proving himself to be the best with the calibre of some other superstars on Eric Bischoff’s roster.
10. CM Punk - CWE - CWE OWNERCM Punk shocked the CWE Universe by aligning himself with Generation Next at the end of CWE’s
Old School Raw. Brutal chairshots to legends Roddy Piper and Stone Cold Steve Austin were a sign that Punk is willing to put himself next to those he thinks are on the up and have the power to dominate the CWE. To say Generation Next have acquired a useful superstar is an understatement
9. Evolution - ZCW - @ziggyfigsEvolution have dominated the ZCW for nearly a year, and continued to show their dominance at the Trevor Phillips Invitational. A hard fought victory over The Undertaker, albeit with help of a chair, saw HHH pick up the victory and he was quickly mobbed by his colleagues, Batista and Randy Orton. However, the show ended with a different group of wrestlers standing tall – John Cena, The Undertaker, Evan Bourne and Daniel Bryan. This may be the biggest threat posed to Evolution since they began taking over.
8. The Shield – GWV - WickedThe Shield brought their dominance in the wrestling world to the GWV for their
Podcast-a-Go-Go special, and didn’t disappoint. A resilient Generation Next were eventually overcome through a blend of aerial ability, brawling, and brute force displayed by the eclectic mix of skills that the members of The Shield possess. It might take more than three men to keep these guys down.
7. The Great Khali - WFW - attitudesbackKhali put down a marker when he steamrolled his Slamboree opponent, Big E, in a match on
Nitro #3. The two men will face off again at WFW’s first Pay Per View since the rebrand, and if this match is anything to go by then we will be looking at a (gigantic) inaugural WFW Intercontinental Champion. No pun intended, but it’s onwards and upwards for the Great Khali.
6. Chris Jericho - C2W - (=wwefan617=)As C2W re-emerged after over a year’s absence, Chris Jericho came with it and showed why he thinks he’s the best in the world. A hard-fought win over Charlie Haas and Cody Rhodes meant that he successfully defended his C2W World Championship, and this was followed up by defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin on
Crush #8.
5. Santino Marella – BWR - T / deskjetTo say that Santino Marella has only been in the BWR for four episodes of
Shatter, it feels like he’s been a part of the company forever. The ‘Pride of Italy’ made an immediate impact by winning the BWR British Title, and then has been embroiled in the ongoing controversy over wanting to rebrand the British Title as the European Title. He’ll get a chance to make this happen once and for all at
The Great British Bash.
4. Big Boss Man - WWA - @rawIn a company filled with the heavyweights of wrestling in the late 80s/early 90s, it’s a surprise to see the Big Boss Man flourishing like he is in the WWA, currently. While it would be unfair to not mention the interference that aided his win over Smash on
Wrestling Superstars #3, the Boss Man has gone under the radar and now found himself in the semi-finals for the WWF Championship. Not every man can say that he has defeated both Ax and Smash in singles competition, and could the Big Boss Man be set to add more big names to this list of defeated foes?
3. Rob Van Dam - BDW - @brickandyozenIn a company that is full of diverse and crazy characters, Rob Van Dam stands out as the man who could overcome this environment and produce his best displays. Van Dam was determined to get a title shot at Rhino when the BDW presents its upcoming PPV,
Hardcore Heaven, and get it he did when he effectively held Dutch Mantel to ransom with his own health. RVD now needs to back up those actions by winning the championship.
2. Daniel Bryan - MEL - @pookyDaniel Bryan encapsulated the chaos and unpredictability of the Main Event League when he defeated Brock Lesnar for the World Title in the Season 1 Finale. Despite being the underdog, Bryan put in a heroic performance and his dogged determination and energy turned out to be too much for Brock Lesnar. It’ll be fascinating to see how Bryan can attain greater heights after his recent MEL performances.
1. Super Muneco - CMLLJ - juaumguterresSuper Muneco surprised everyone when he won the Battle Royal at
Dojo Fight, in the process giving himself a title shot against Blue Demon Jr. In a match that contained wrestlers like Dr Wagner, Atlantis and Villano, no one would have predicted that Muneco would have been victorious. Can he repeat his feat against Blue Demon Jr?
