The Buyrate is in and it's 4.4 Million. That's pretty solid at $100.00 a pop.

4.4m orders at $100 a go is freaking amazing... such a shame the fight was a let-down.
I wonder what they'll charge for the rematch?

I didn't expect that kind of buyrate. A lot of people stepped up, and spent that $100. I thought the price point would hurt it, and you would have more people than normal pooling together to watch it. That was probably still the case, we use to do it when they were $50 a pop, but a lot of people/fans did it. The next time the media hypes the next "superfight" they will do it again.
Don't see anything on the horizon. I would love to see A. Ward and Triple G fight and it likely will happen, but won't be huge by any means. Cotto/Alvarez will happen and is a big fight too. The biggest fight is Golovkin/Mayweather but it will never happen and even it wouldn't be as big a Pacquiao/Mayweather. The sport will not die, people will continue to watch. It was an entertaining fight last week between Kirkland/Alvarez, and I will watch Golovkin this weekend.
Mayweather is just too slick in the ring. Khan is the next best opponent for him, but I don't think he is a real threat. Dislike Floyd as a person, but he is a great boxer.

Great post - Mayweather is almost too good for his own good... his style just nullifies his opponents and isn't particularly exciting or entertaining to watch. I think people will be more wary of buying into the rematch... no matter how well they sell/hype it. Cotto/Alvarez seems like a very fan-friendly fight though.
