Yeah man. Don't get me wrong, I like the Playmates ones but I'd easily replace them with spot on 1st movie figures.
As far as GB goes, I'm a little spent on the entire thing. I think, just like the franchise itself, it's a bit over-saturated right now. If anything I think some decked out versions of the ghosts that Mattel used as accessories would be cool. But I'm also old and jaded and shaking my action figure cane these days

Yeah. I liked Mattel's Scoleri Brothers and most of their ghosts, honestly, but I didn't want the overall figure. Just me personally. The only thing I still have from that entire line is the Vigo cardboard that changes when you tilt it haha

That was actually a cool accessory. I display it like the painting itself behind the figure.

Sucks we had to go to Neca for Gozer. I still need 2 terror dogs. But they're crazy pricey.

Kind of meh about them. Ray isn't bad but Winston is way off. Definitely don't like whatever it is they were trying to do with the torso split. We'll see I guess how impulsive I get when these hit retail. I'm not really all that compelled to replace my mattel figures at the moment. The Sin City scans actually turned out worse than the protos we saw and I didn't think those were very good to begin with. So I just need to see them in hand.

The figures look great. I have Mattel's offerings. What I want now are Funko Reaction versions of the Ghostbusters.
I asked Reis O'Brien about them specifically and he stated no. He didn't go into detail, but I would assume it would have to do with Mattel's figure deal and them not wanting to play ball with Funko.
But I'm definitely with you there...I'd love to have ReActions of at least the four guys.

Excited to pick these up. I've started collecting movie related items recently and Ghostbusters is at the top of my list.

I think they are incredible and I am very glad I never got the Mattel ones. These will fit nicely in scale with all my NECA stuff!

Well that's a bummer. I was most impressed with Funko's Reaction offerings this past Toy Fair. Oh well, maybe things will change in the future.

Yep, that's what I'm hoping for.
It's silly considering that Funko would be doing a scale and style that nobody else is probably going to do the Ghostbusters in.

Heads up for anyone looking to pick these up, they just went up for preorder on a large, not so good store that sells toys.

I'd rather have the Mattel ab crunch then that split torso any day Yea, the split torso doesnt do it for me neither.

I don't think the sculpts are any worse than mattel. Mattys were cartoonish. At any rate, I think these are going to crap all over the matty figures.... or at least I hope. I will be waiting to see the final product. I already got rid of all my matty stuff except for vinz, the GB2 TRU 4-pack and Vigo.

I've got the first set preordered in the hopes that the final Louis figure winds up looking better than the proto. I stupidly passed on Matty Vinz and the prices for Zuul on the secondary market are a bit too much, so the chances of me having them both in Matty form are slim. Here's hopin' Select will right this by making a better Zuul to go with him somewhere down the line.
As for the line...the blurb for series 1 only mentions there being twelve in the line. I'd say the Ghostbusters in 1 and 2 outfits are a given, and with Louis already shown, that only leaves three more characters...but who? I'd love to see a Gozer, but there has to be a good reason Matty didn't produce her. There's no way to get out all the necessary characters for the line, unless they end up doing the four GBs in their 1 outfits and Ray and Winston with the slime blowers.
All in all, I think we're going to be disappointed in some way when all is said and done, but oh well, I'll finally be able to have a Ghostbusters/Freddy crossover in my house, and that's pretty swell.

Janine, Dana and Gozer, wow they're really going all out with this, good for them. Though I still can't understand how Louis can look so poor when the rest are pretty good.
