I grew up on SNES, played some Sega at friends houses and stuff, but never owned one. I finally bought one and now I need your guys help. What games on SNES and Sega are different on the two systems? I've heard the Power Rangers Movie game is completely different on Sega, and I know Royal Rumble has a different roster. Any other games with differences? Also, are there any games that were only on Sega that you'd recommend?

For the Power Rangers game, the one based on the movie was still a beat 'em up if I recall, but there was also a Power Rangers fighting game on Genesis that was really bad. You may be thinking of that. Aladdin was a completely different game on both systems though. I personally think the Genesis version is leagues better than the SNES version.
There are so many games I could recommend though. These are some of my favorites on the Genesis
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (My personal favorite game) Revenge of Shinobi Streets of Rage series (3 is my favorite) Sonic series (3 and Knuckles is great) Thunder Force IV/Lightening Force (Best soundtrack in a game ever) Rambo III Contra: Hard Corps Castlevania Bloodlines Golden Axe 1 & 2 Gunstar Heroes Road Rash series Vectorman series Shining Force series (2 in particular) Ecco the Dolphin Rocket Knight Adventures Earthworm Jim series Aladdin Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition Shadow Dancer Animaniacs Castle of Illusion World of Illusion Comix Zone Bonanza Bros. NHL Hockey NHL '94 Mutant League Football Mutant League Hockey Battle Squadron Populous X-Men 2: Clone Wars
I could probably think of more if given time. I will note that some of those are really cheap, but some are pretty expensive (Shining Force series, Earthworm Jim series, and Streets of Rage 3 I know for sure are expensive). They're all pretty fun though.

I've been told the SNES version of the MMPR movie game was awful compared to the Sega one, which Ive heard follows the movie more closely. Also, how is Aladdin different? From what Ive heard/read, it sounds like the only difference that makes the Sega version better is the graphics

They play differently and were made by two different companies. Virgin made the Sega game, Capcom made the Nintendo game. They're both platformers, but they both play differently. The Sega game is a bit more action oriented.

Completely hijacking this thread for a minute since we're talking old Sega games. Anyone remember the old Sega fighting game were you took control of various famous monsters that were not allowed to actually be named after their real ideas. Like I remember a giant gorilla (clearly King Kong) and a giant reptile from the sea (clearly Godzilla) and then a bunch of other weird ass pop culture animals in a fighting game where you could trash around towns and forests and sh*t. I used to love that game back in the day, figure one of you Sega guys might know of it.

I don't think this is what you're talking about, but it kind of sounds like Rampage.

Fun game, but I remember being allowed to rent it once and then never again, lol.

Aladdin was great, but I never beat it. I always made it to Jaffar and got my ass kicked, lol. Lion King was another good game albeit ridiculously difficult. I'll also throw out a special mention to Toy Story, but that was on the SNES too.

Lion King was another good game albeit ridiculously difficult. The elephant graveyard and stampede levels were awesome. And since we're talking about video game tie-ins to movies, shout out to Hook.
