i can't wait for these figs. I've been MK fan ever since first came hit the arcade halls on early 90s. So good memories with this game and it's cool characters. I wish they give us Klassic line and release wide range of characters from the first trilogy.

Ask and you shall receive! Mezco Toyz tweeted a package preview of MKX Series1. I can't link to it on my cell phone but if someone can snag the picture or something we could all Marvel at its beauty!

I don't like the packaging. It looks pretty much the same as the Jazwares packaging but instead of art or colors its black.

Packaging seems very dull and uninspired in my opinion. And like Naptown said, it looks very much like Jazwares MK packaging design, which is surely a comparison Mezco would NOT want people to make! It's a careless choice really.
Still the figures are the important thing. Though personally the only reason I keep checking this thread is because I'm hoping they will do classic 6" or 7" figures at some point.

The packaging looks identical to the MKX disc. I think it's perfect for these figures. If you want to compare it to Jazwares, it's similar in that regard (their MK9 figures had the look of the MK9 disc) but aside from that, I don't think it's bad at all.

It's a black case with white letters, simple and probably inspired the packaging.

I'm sure you're correct on the reasoning, but in my experience Mezco is a company looking to cut corners and costs anywhere possible, without passing the savings onto the consumer. Not to rant on a company here, but nearly all of their figures are poorly packaged, poorly painted, poorly articulated items that cost about $10 more than they should.

I'm very curious to know what you've bought from them that cuts corners and costs more than it actually should, with poor paint and articulation. I had a few of their Hellboy figures ten years back and they're far better in terms of value and aesthetic than many of Hasbro's recent offerings. And Mezco's recent Batman was worth every penny, and the packaging was absolute excellence. I'm not a Mezco endorser, since I only have those figures I mentioned of theirs. But I strongly disagree with your entire post, and I'm curious to read what experience you've had that makes you dislike them so much.

Amazing news on the 6" MK line at SDCC - they showed the figures we've already seen plus a couple of repaints!!! WOW!!!
At this rate Mezco's MK line will be just as good as Jazzwares MK line... I am such a huge fan of the MK characters but I am just getting so sick of only ever getting a handful of poor-to-average quality figures based only on modern designs, before the company gives up entirely.

For reals..Jazwares had their own exclusive 'cold snap' sub zero which is essentially the exact same as the iced mezco version. And I'm pretty sure they also had a clear Raiden, and now Mezco has their glow in the dark Raiden. Would it kill someone to make a Shang Tsung? Sonya Blaze? Kano in his MK 1 gear? Jeeeez

Jeeeez I just think of Mattel's Masters Of The Universe Classics line, the new Thundercats Classics line, the SOTA Street Fighter line, Marvel Legends, DC Universe Classics, DC Collectables' Batman Animated line. The list goes on and on. A high-quality 6-inch Mortal Kombat line, particularly one based on the CLASSIC trilogy looks and characters, would just be so amazing and I think it would sell. I just can't understand why it never happens, not just recently but over the last decade or so. I can only draw the conclusion that Netherrealm just doesn't care about getting decent action figures out there. After the utter trash we got from Jazzwares, it's just heartbreaking to now see Mezco only making lukewarm efforts. Even if they have doubts about doing a full-on classic line or wave, they could AT LEAST test the waters by making a classic Scorpion or something. Or like you say just going a bit deeper with the modern games would be a start.

STORM COLLECTIBLES JUST ANNOUNCED 6-INCH CLASSIC MK FIGURES!!!! Prototypes of Goro, Scorpion and Sub-Zero were shown: news.toyark.com/2015/07/22/storm-collectibles-reveals-mortal-kombat-klassic-figures-at-seoul-kid-and-adult-fair-170416While I can instantly see these are not 100% accurate to the original designs (which is a shame), I am still beyond excited about this as it's one of my top dream action figure lines ever. I'm also quite pleased Mezco aren't the ones doing it, after seeing their fairly lacklustre efforts on the MK X line, both in terms of lack of commitment/depth of character selection and mediocre quality of the actual product. I do wish Storm Collectibles had stayed 100% accurate to the original designs and actors for these. But I guess it was always gonna be optomistic to expect Netherrealm to pay the original actors to use their likenesses. So I guess part of the stylizing is for that reason. I'd say Goro looks the worst of the three, which is surprising considering the original puppet still exists at netherrealm studios and they wouldn't have to dodge anyone's likeness. But perhaps they'd have to pay the original sculptor or something, I dunno. Again though - MORTAL KOMBAT CLASSIC FIGURES!!! FINALLY!!!
