Grudge match 1: Time to Settle Things
Dex vs. Trace Demon
What really needs to be said here? These two men have been at war for weeks on end and their one on one encounter was put on hold after the addition of two more men, (who are absent from the card this week) Drakz and Jayson Garrett, to the title picture. Things really boiled over at Battle at the Garden when Drakz put Garrett down whilst Dex was in position to break up a definite three count. The ever unfathomable Trace Demon had other plans though and restrained Dex long enough for Drakz to win the match. Will we get an explanation? Will Dex finally deliver the hurt that he's been waiting on for weeks? Will this thing ever end? Find out in your WFWF 'Grudge' main event.
No DQ with the Dragon
Tugarin Zmey vs. Cameron Stone
At Battle at the Garden we saw one Samael Ahriman stray from the moral line he seems to have walked for years, hitting Kyle Matthews with a steel chair and siding with WFWF's resident maniacal midget. Sam's long time friend and fellow commentator Cameron Stone has gone on record saying he's disgusted with Ahriman's new alignment and is going to go to extreme lengths to bring his friend back to his senses. He's going to chop down the dragon........or so he says.
Tugarin Zmey is a power house who has yet to be pinned or forced to submit and he only seems to be improving with every encounter. Stone has called for this to be a No DQ match and frankly we're not sure who that favors. Weapons may give Stone the edge he needs to put the hurt on Tugarin, but on the other hand Zmey is scary enough unarmed. Can you imagine this behemoth swinging a sledgehammer? We'd rather not.
Grudge Match 2: A Chance at Revenge
Kyle Matthews vs. Samael Ahriman
Battle at the Garden didn't end well for Kyle Matthews. He went hard against The Dragon but it wasn't quite enough. A loss to Zmey would have been bearable but Zmey was instructed by his boss, DMK, to finish the young man off. Enter everyone's favorite day saver Samael Ahriman. He stepped in to help Raider defend his tag team titles against The New Epoch 2 years ago. He came to Shawn Malakai's aid at Superbrawl and it seemed this time he was going to protect Matthews only, to the crowd's horror, to wrap the steel chair around Kyle's head himself. This chair shot was Ahriman's announcement to the world that he was the newest member of the KoKaine Konspiracy. It only seems fair that Matthews is granted the opportunity to release the anger that must have grown since recovering from that sickening blow.
WFWF National Title Match
The First Defense is the Hardest
Nikki Dean vs. Ante Whitner
At the Pay Per View we finally saw an end to the fantastic National Title Tournament, of which Nikki Dean came out on top of. Even as a very new competitor to the business Nikki has shown in recent weeks that she can hang with anyone, and now has the gold to prove it.
On the WFWF.com Pre-show new gun Ante Whitner came up with the goods in his three way eliminator, thus earning him the first shot at the newly crowned champion. So here we are, one week into Mrs Dean's reign and she's defending against this promising talent. Can Nikki show she's not just a flash in the pan? Or will Whitner continue to rise?
The Proving Ground
Joshua Dean vs. Daniel Kirkbride
Joshua Dean had a show stealer at Battle at the Garden, showing the world he's (almost) as blood thirsty as Phillip Schneider. Whilst he was the one we uttered the words "I Respect You" we always knew it was the case anyway. Joshua Dean is a man who gives respect where it's due and through this he has surrounded himself with a group of bodies that thrive on that notion. This match simply makes sense.
Daniel Kirkbride has recently gone from strength to strength working his way up from the Pre-show onto the main card and while many found his absence from the National Title tourney odd it seems there are greater plans for the young man. In a match that will really stretch his skills it seems he's being tested, and who better to test a man's dedication to the ring than Mr Dean?
Grudge Match 3: Don't Cross the Family
Joe Bishop vs. Penny Shannon
One man who didn't have the Pay Per View go to plan was Joe Bishop. After an incredible match with Dave Demento he was unable to pick up the victory and so lost his International Title. It was later revealed on WFWF.com that Bishop actually went on to attack Demento after the match, a subject he will address on this very show. Someone else wants to address this issue though, with her fists, Penny Shannon. With Penny now very much a team mate of Demento it only makes sense that a chance of retribution is given, and who better to tackle the issue than the The Velocity Grrrl? Especially after coming off of a huge victory over Devilkiller at The Garden.
This is going to be heated.
We're Spoiling You
Shapiro vs. Dave Demento
Opening the show is a real treat. These show starters really have been strong these last few weeks haven't they? Here we have two men who had very different Battle at the Garden experiences. Dave Demento became the new International Champion while Shapiro narrowly missed out on becoming the National Champion himself. This week we see both men taking one another on in a true rasslin' match. Both are good guys. Both are looking for a victory. A win here could catapult Shapiro into the upper echelons of the card and Demento has to know that. You can be sure the International Champ will be bringing his A game to ensure that doesn't happen.
Exclusively on the WFWF.com 'Grudge' Pre-Show!
Brett Diamond vs. Axel Thornstowe vs. Justin North
Three relative new comers. Green as grass but unlike most grass they're growing in the grandest field of them all. Axel Thornstowe first appeared on the Battle at the Garden WFWF.com Pre-show in a high stakes début match. He came up short that night but WFWF isn't one for letting people rest up. This week he faces fresh talent in Brett Diamond and Justin North who, as with tradition, are looking to make an impact with their first showings here. What can we say? New guys fighting to reach the main show always makes for great matches.
