Q: I think I may have a virus what do I do?
A: There are multiple ways to remove a virus, though the easiest is to download Malwarebytes. It's a very good software and the registered version is superior to just about everything on the market. Run a full scan through and delete the virus from there. Though viruses can be tricky and run undetected, that is when you should post a thread about it. Here is the Malwarebytes software.

Q: My program isn't working, how do I fix this?
A: It depends on what isn't working. If the software isn't working it should respond with a message, type it in the thread or screenshot the image. There are many reasons a program may be malfunctioning, but if the program isn't responding try right clicking and run the program as Administrator.

Q: Is it safe to turn off a Windows computer without doing a shut down?
Users should not simply press the power button or restart the computer while Windows is still running unless there is an issue with the computer. Microsoft has included the shut down feature because it enables a computer to go through all the all the necessary steps that are required before turning off the computer. In fact many versions of Microsoft Windows will check the computer for any problems if the computer is not shut down properly

If your computer is infected with a virus formatting or erasing the hard disk drive and starting over will almost always remove any type of virus. However, keep in mind if backups have been made that contain the virus, other media or drives connected to the computer have a virus, your computer is connected to another computer on a network with a virus, and/or the virus is stored on some other type of software you use with your computer it can become re-infected if not properly protected.

Q: Can a virus damage computer hardware?
No. Computer viruses are software code designed to spread to computer files and other computers, delete files, and cause other problems with the data on the computer. So if you're experiencing an issue with a hardware device such as your printer, video card, sound card, etc. it is not due to a virus.

Q: CPU or GPU reliant systems, which one is better?
For gaming you'd want to have a good mixture of both. One outweighing the other is a term called "bottlenecking" you don't want to bottleneck as you won't get the same performance as a CPU and GPU combo. A mid-range CPU and a mid-range GPU will always be better than a low-end CPU and a high-end GPU or vice versa.

Q: My PC is getting slow is there anyway I can speed it up?
Yes, infact there are two ways, with one having a much greater impact than the other.
The first solution only gets your PC as fast as how you bought it, and depending on what programs you use it might not be a good enough risk to do.
1. Defragment your hard drive.
-
Open Disk Defragmenter by clicking the , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking Disk Defragmenter. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click Defragment Now.
2. Stop any unnecessary programs from loading when your computer boots. *If you are not comfortable doing this on your own, have a professional take care of this for you.
The second solution is much more efficient but costs money. If you'd like to simply increase the speed of your current computer, I suggest increasing the amount of RAM. RAM is Random Access Memory and usually gives you a substantial increase if you're just internet browsing and doing various tasks. (Not gaming) For that I'd suggest the G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8 GB (2X4) RAM. Two sticks of RAM has more performance than one 8 gig stick.
For an overall upgrade in speed, you should post a thread labeling all your specs and what you intend to do with your hardware.
