Oh, and apparently, Andrew McCutchen hurt his ankle? Doesn't seem like anything major, though.

man CC actually looked good last night, until a ing check swing from Ortiz. ugh. considering he has SUCKED against the Sox pretty much his entire stint with the Yankees the fact that he threw 5 innings of 0-run ball was nice. i still don't understand pinch hitting....McCann is not hitting well, all the claims of "oh deh short porch!" are not holding up. What are the odds he was gonna get a hit over Cervelli? just leave it be Joe. Same for Gardner in the 9th. It's early, give 'em rest. Ichiro continues to be good every couple of days. It's actually perfect for him. His defense is still great, and I think with him playing less he's less "exposed" and can focus more because the dude is getting hits ALOT. Betances could be something real special if he stays healthy. He could be the next Joba circa2007 without the disaster to follow because they aren't going to try and make him a starter.

I realized why the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry is kind crap now.
Sox have won 3 WS in the last decade. Yankees? 1. There's really no point to it now.
There aren't any players that the fans despise except for A-Rod. There are a few Sox players I just don't like personally (Gomes, Buchholz) but it's not like I wish they would break an arm or a wrist like I did for guys like Schilling or Pedro or Youkilis. Half the guys are all friends, Xander Bogearts (which is an awesome name btw) is like "derek jeter is my idol" Jacoby Ellsbury leaves and like 90% of the RedSox fanbase is like "whew thank god we didn't have to PAY him!!"
its like people holding on to it because thats the only way they know....but i mean at this point? as a yankee fan im willing to concede the last decade to Boston....and it's just like, who cares now? especially since the last few years the Rangers & Tigers have caused more problems for the Yankees than the Red Sox.
I dunno, I mean is it even fun anymore to anyone else?

I dunno, I mean is it even fun anymore to anyone else? I know what you're talking about. I'm a HUGE Sox fan, but I don't even hate the Yankees. A-Rod I don't pay any attention to, I love watching Jeter play, and that Tanaka guy looks like a solid pitcher. I used to despise the Yankees when I first started watching baseball, but not anymore. The whole "rivalry" reached its peak in 2003/04, and now it just looks like an excuse for ESPN to go "Hey everyone, tune into Sunday Night Baseball at 8, because, even though we know it probably won't happen, the Red Sox and Yankees are going to beat the everliving out of each other!!!" I don't even really get excited when the Sox play the Yankees. I treat it like any other regular season game. Know what I mean?

Just wanted to repeat this. I still think the Brewers can be sneaky good, even if it is this early in the season. Great pitching for Pineda tonight though, loved watching his filthy stuff... ESPN just ing hates baseball so something like this happens they have to talk about it more than the actual game. MLB Network FTW. Yeah the Brew Crew are always threats. They are going to take a couple from the Pirates this weekend I think, and then who knows. The division is going to be interesting. Cards and Pirates are good. Brew Crew could be. The Reds do not suck, and the Cubbies are playing well enough that they could get out if the cellar if they win those close games. Fun. A couple...take the whole series in a sweep...whatever.

Freddie Freeman is the truth. Too bad he has to carry Uggla, Heyward, and BJ Upton on his back like an anchor. Nice sweep of the Nationals. This just feels like another season where we somehow make the playoffs, and get spanked yet again because we can't hit. Story of the last 20 years.

Astros called up George Springer. "Oh it's real, it's damn real."

Our starting rotation is having a really bad time. Wandy, Cole and Morton have all gotten lit up real bad the last few games. I really home Edison can right the ship tonight against the Reds.

Dude would like to see us get it together for one season. One! Bobby's or Chipper's last season would've been nice, but we both know what happened there.

Gomez deserves a thousand kicks to the balls for being the worlds biggest douchebag. Snider got thrown out too, and well deserved for likely breaking Gomez's nose with that FALCON PUNCH but I cannot say I would not have done the same thing. Guy wants to come after our pitcher after HE cockily motioned for a home run that turned out to NOT be? You do not mess with the battlin' Bucs. Jagoff.
