I will never understand the logic of preordering a figure you haven't even seen yet.

Are Mattel wrestling figures....the only toyline that make u pre-order before seeing them? Mattel isn't "making u" do anything.

I will never understand the logic of preordering a figure you haven't even seen yet. You don't have to understand. You can either spend your money on it or not. You don't need to worry about others and their choices, only yours. I think some people are upset or jealous because they don't have the disposable income that others have to take a chance. Because people buy these preorders, the prices stay high, and some people can't stand it. Sorry, bro. Welcome to capitalism.

Well, I don't collect Flashbacks/Legends for the most part, so that might be part of the reason. That said, I pretty much know what I'm going to get with Harper/Rowan/Goldust since they've only worn one attire essentially. And they are going to be damn near impossible to get around here (my stores haven't gotten a new Elite set since before Christmas) so I'm going to end up ordering them anyways.

Yeah I'm pretty much exclusively flashbacks/legends so that makes sense. I have yet to place a preorder ever but with a Razor, Flair or Hogan possibly coming I might have to...

I will never understand the logic of preordering a figure you haven't even seen yet. You can always ask for a refund if you don't like the pictures. Understand?

But tbanks for the un-needed lesson in things I'm already aware of. My point is why spend an amount of money that is substantially more than you would pay for the same product elsewhere, without even knowing what the product looks like? I've been a defender of Ringside, so their prices are nothing new to me. In fact, I've actually pre-ordered numerous of the exclusives through Ringside, but after the proto has been released. Also, because there stands a chance that those exclusive figures won't be found anywhere else near me. The Elite and Basic series on the other hand, are almost always found in my area at one of the stores. Not to mention, with a little patience, I get to view various pictures of the product before making the purchase. It's not a matter of "not having the money", but more of "not wanting to waste money on something when I don't know what I'm getting."

Yes, I'm aware of how the refund function works. Doesn't take away from the fact that you are spending money on a product that is a complete mystery, outside of general assumptions of what it could be.

Also, because there stands a chance that those exclusive figures won't be found anywhere else near me. The Elite and Basic series on the other hand, are almost always found in my area at one of the stores. Not to mention, with a little patience, I get to view various pictures of the product before making the purchase. It's not a matter of "not having the money", but more of "not wanting to waste money on something when I don't know what I'm getting." You don't understand the logic, then, because you can't see beyond your own situation. Just think of why you DON'T preorder and simply ask yourself, "Does everyone 'almost always' find things in their area?" A lot of people don't. A lot people live nowhere near a well-stocked toy store. They go through weeks or months of frustration, saying, "I never saw Kevin Nash in my stores" or whatever. Even those who do live near toy stores, there is no assurance that the figures they want will be available. Even if you wait for proto images, there is no assurance you'll get a chance to order it online unless you just so happen to catch it in time. If it is available, I take the small risk that it will turn out to be a figure I don't want.If it's available, and you know you want the character, you take the $30 risk. It's not any worse than a bad first date, or going to see a bad movie in the theater, which can cost a lot more than that, including time. But the great thing is, if you don't like the figure, there is always someone on eBay who buy it for a discount. You can sell back a bad movie ticket. Which brings me to my second point: to a lot of collectors, getting it delivered through the mail (before others get it mind you) is worth the extra $10 or so because (to some people) their time is worth more than that. I collect to collect, not to spend my Saturdays running from this store to that store. To those who enjoy that, more power to you! It is exciting seeing new toys in the toystore; it feels like being a kid again. But I make more working in one hour than the cost of a ringside preorder. So if I waste just ONE HOUR driving up to my K-Mart, look around, and see nothing, then I've lost $30 of my time. You'll never get your time back. But you can always make more money. I hope that clarifies the logic.

Weird that Harper is 2 per case but Rowan is only 1. Is there another assortment that has the numbers switched?

Another awesome set. Def gonna grab Punk, Harper, Rowan and Goldust. I'm pretty content with my elite 22 Sandow so if he comes with his personalized brief case I might have to pick him up and depends what Andre looks like.

I will never understand the logic of preordering a figure you haven't even seen yet. I buy all Flashbacks regardless so if its a guy thats a top name for me like Andre, Hogan, Savage etc, Ill pre order him. If its a guy that I really dont care about like Rikishi, Road Dog or Billy Gunn, Ill wait till they hit retail.
