Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show was announced for the WWE Royal Rumble at the Smackdown taping on Tuesday.

Powell's POV: Big Show issued a challenge on Miz TV, and Paul Heyman came out and accepted the challenge on Lesnar's behalf.

don't understand why they can't put Brock into some unique situations instead of having him relive matches from 10 years ago. He's only had four opponents since returning now, including Show, and he had decent matches with Show and Cena in 2002/2003, but Show certainly isn't the same and his match with Cena was just another example of Super Cena booking. Meanwhile, he had three matches with Triple H, and which that was originally a unique match-up, it should've ended at Summerslam. The only feud Brock has been in since returning that really went how I initially expected was the one with Punk. It doesn't help that he's well on his way to most likely starting a boring program with Batista for Mania. everytime they get a chance to do something exciting they simply dig in their archives and pull something that peaked a decade earlier.

I'm happy with this. It keeps the Brock nonsense out of the Rumble itself, and it could be a good match. It was a pretty awesome moment on RAW with them two locking up and Show is still a credible threat.

Id be fine with this if it didn't mean wasting one of Brock's 3 matches a year on a match that has happened many times. They could have put him in the rumble if he was gonna wrestle anyway. Him and Batista could eliminate each other and kick off that feud.
