Had to work and didnt see the race but I dont like G-W-C finishes at super speedways. Seems like as soon as they get up to speed the race is over. Id like to see a Green, 2-3 laps then a checkered

I thought it was going to be like last year all over again when I saw Smith and Brad K coming out of turn four. Great finish. I am surprised that Kyle B did not try a move to the very bottom, it looked like he had some room to do it.
First the truck race, then the nationwide race, the 500 is going to be mighty special!

And to that bit about Derrike Cope. He's got 2 career wins, and guess what? One of them is a Daytona 500. I have seen that race countless times for some reason. Everytime I sit there thinking Earnhardt isn't going to blow a tire. It is one of the earliest races I remember watching as a kid, (I remember 89 Daytona too)and it is what made me an Earnhardt fan. Derrike Cope. Crazy. He won at Dover that year too so he wasn't a total bum I guess. Earnhardt was close to lapping the field at one point. In all honesty, his car probably wasn't on the up and up. |

I used to love Nascar..I haven't kept up with it in a few years though..switched to Monster Jam.

I could never bail on NASCAR. My first girlfriend attempted to make me, could never do it though. After her, I always made a point to be able to watch races even if I was hanging out with a gf. Luckily, the other 2 before my current one actually enjoyed the sport so it was a plus.
In other news, today is THE day. The day that the winter depression finally ends. Today is the Daytona 500!! It's been a loooooooong 13 weeks since Cheat Johnson won the title last November. Today, a whole new season begins. The 88 car been fast all preseason. And the 3 returns to Sprint Cup competition, and has been fast too. Austin Dillon has some biiiiig shoes to fill. All eyes will be on him, especially today. Austin is a good kid and he knows how to drive a race car, I'm sure he'll make most of Sr's fans proud. There are those who are simply a**holes about his driving the 3, but as the saying goes, you can please some people all the time, and all the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time. This is a case of Austin needing to just remember the beginning of Stevie Richards' theme, and just say to the haters "I'll show you, you'll see." Don't be surprised when that 3 car winds up in victory lane at least once this season. Not guaranteeing it will be today, but oh would it be sweet if he did.

Ahhhh, I've waited so long for those words. And the Unlimited and Duels being on FS1, I didn't hear them for those races.
And Michael Waltrip straight up burned Danica. She told him he looked ready and to go get in his car, and he says "it's back there, I heard you're coming back to join me. It's gonna be a fun time."

Also I can already tell commercials are going to bug the crapoutta me. They went to the "side by side" deal then less then 2 laps later went to a full screen commercial. |

I still love watching it, but I was wondering if I was only member here that missed the tandem drafting at Daytona?
This will be my first season posting in here--I was wondering on how acceptable it is to bash drivers you don't like, and how do people take it? I don't plan of going off the rails and tearing any driver up, I was just curious if people are cool with the general, "I hate Blah Blah! Turned down on purpose what an a-hole!"

I thought the tandem drafting was kinda cool. The fact you couldnt get 3+ more cars to work but 2 cars could do anything, anywhere on the track was really cool. I like pack racing too though because of the wrecks. I feel like we're more in the middle now with a lot of single file racing which is boring. You can usually bash any driver you want. Except Kyle Busch. Some (a) member here believes he apparently does nothing wrong.  |

Did Jimmie The Cheat Johnson ruin it for you or was it the chase. What did Johnson do? He cheats up his car in every race. There is even video evidence where Chad Knaus, his crew chief, tells Johnson to wreck the car if he wins so they dont get caught cheating. |
