Super7/Funko Action Figures ReAction/Svg Wrld/Ultimates

Pretty exciting stuff imo. I love the look of the Re-Action Alien figures, so Buffy treatment seems like it should be amazing. Depending on price, I'll probably buy most or all of the Buffy figures. I know you could order the Alien figures all in one set, so hopefully they do the same. Buffy, Willow, Xander, Oz, Faith, Angel, Spike and Giles, yes please! Don't forget Anya, Dawn, Riley, Tara and especially Cordelia. Obviously, they will need more than one wave. Maybe we can get a Caleb too, which would be so sick.

Also, hopefully this means we are getting a 6" River Tam, which I have wanted for nearly a decade now. Shut up and take my money. It'll be great to have a Mal with a super accurate headscan too. I'd like to see Saffron in the Re-Action waves.

Funko has made an announcement that they will be making ReAction figures based on the Si-Fi series Firefly and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. For those not familiar with the ReAction line, they are basically a throwback to the old Kenner style of Star Wars figures. The first figures done for this line were ones based on never-before released Alien figures Kenner had originally planned to do back in the 80's. For more on them be sure to click here.

They will also be doing a line of 6" Legacy figures for Firefly.

They really ARE like Kenner figures. Crazy! I'm all over the BTVS figs. Angel and Angelus at the top of my list.

I am looking forward to the Buffy figures. But I really hope they are not in the style of the Kenner Star Wars/Alien figures. But perhaps go to CS Moore and reuse the original Buffy figure molds that originally came out during the first few seasons of the show.
Also, a lot of those blind box waves sound cool too.

A new interview was posted today about the REACTION LINE! I wish Punks would retitle this thread Reaction Funko line.


1.How did Funko come to be involved in the release and development of the ReAction line?

We loved the vision of Brian Flynn at Super 7 and his idea of retro action figures. So Brian and I thought it would be great to team up and utilize Funko’s large stable of licenses to grow ReAction more rapidly.

2. Star Trek Classic was listed as one of the ReAction licenses. What does “Classic” entail? Just the Original Series or everything prior to the JJ Abram’s reboot?

Yes Classic TV i.e. Nimoy and Shatner and the original series for now.

3. Stylistically will the ReAction line follow the model established by the Alien figures (neutral pose, straight arms, legs) creating consistency across all the ReAction properties?

Yes absolutely. We want everything to feel like a Kenner Star Wars figure from 1978.

4. For ReAction, are the figures always 5 points of articulation, or might there be the occasional extra points such as knees for sitting?

Always limited articulation.

5.You’ve mentioned on the Funko Funatics forums that you plan to greatly expand the Remco Universal Monsters line. Are the Universal Monsters figures going to be done in the Remco style, or the Kenner style? Was your comment directed more at character offerings rather than sculpting style?

More the Kenner style with additional figures not produced by Remco. As well as glow and black and white variations!

6. Will any of the major brick and mortar stores be carrying ReAction and/or Legacy? We believe Toys R Us and Target are very interested in the vision of ReAction.

7. If ReAction is the hit we all hope it will be, any plans for vehicles or playlets? A Kenner-styled DeLorean for Back to the Future, or an Enterprise bridge would be amazing.

Yes Super 7 and Funko have a nice surprise up our sleeves for Comic Con on a play-set!

8. You recently revealed Buffy the Vampire Slayers Series 1 (Buffy, Willow, A Gentlemen from Hush, Spike, Angel and Oz) on the FunkoFunatics forum. Will each ReAction release consist of 6 figures, or will it vary from property to property?

Each property varies.

9. Many of the ReAction licenses are older properties where the classic Kenner style “makes sense”. How did newer properties such as Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and such get folded into this style?

We want to be consistent with the look and feel.

10. Fans are already dying for the reveals to come next month at Toy Fair. Now that Alien has been released, how soon until the next ReAction line is released?

Toy Fair is going to explode minds. We will be unveiling 8-10 new lines of ReAction, many in their blister cards and some as prototypes in paint stage. It will be epic!

Done. I'm going to be buying these in excess and I know ToyFair is going to create a buzz anyway so we might as well just use this as a blanket thread if that's ok with everyone. Thank you for posting the interview too.


I'm really excited to see both Back to the Future and Goonies figures, which I'm guessing will be revealed at TF. Buffy, Goonies, BTTF, Aliens, Universal Monsters, Star Trek, Escape from NY, Terminator, and Pulp Fiction are all figures I expect to see in some capacity as either ready to ship lines or prototypes. Should be awesome. I think the Legacy line has a way higher ceiling of potential, simply because they should be collector masterpiece figures of sorts, but the ReAction line is going to be extremely fun to collect. I'd love to see these accessible through Target and TRU at a lower price point too, which would certainly help the habit.

Oh, and the idea of getting a Kenner style Snake Plissken is truly epic. Throw in a Madmartigan and now we're in business. This line is perfect for Battlestar Galactica too. Hopefully they can make that happen at some point.

I would really like to see at Toyfair the rest of the Alien cast. Parker, Lambert, Brett, a non spaceman Kane too. Maybe an accessory of Jonesy.

The buffy and Firefly do not interest me as I feel the focus should be seventies and eighties properties.

I would LOVE to see A friday the 13th line. With the first movie camp counselors and Pamela Voorhees. Also Marvel and DC to me are DYING to have a Reaction line. Could you imagine a seventies theme of them? Shang Chi! I would love it.

I wish they would do what happened with Alien and find the original molds and plans for cancelled lines such as The Dark Crystal and The Last Starfighter.

I can't wait until toyfair to see both Reaction and Legacy lines, plus the new Pops (which I already collect)

The Dark Crystal line seems like it's in big demand from fans as best as I can tell. Seems like something that we might see and was made for this type of line. Seems to be on the majority of collectors wish lists.

I'm interested to see what the molds look like that will be original from Funko. My only complaint with the Alien figures is that the paint job really isn't that clean imo, as my Ripley feels like it has almost a custom paint feel to it. I'm just interested to see if the lines with original molds, which is seemingly going to be everything else in ReAction, have a little smoother look to them. I'm a bit disappointed we won't be seeing any added articulation. I think a thinner style figure with a knee joint could do wonders for the line, as I think the Kenner Indiana Jones figures were perfect. That hasn't really deterred my excitement though, as the licenses in general are enough to get me pumped about everything. I think using "newer" properties and putting them in an older format is a novelty that will always appeal to collectors, but that's also the reason Funko has both ReAction and Legacy.

I hope that Funko will do some "All-Star" lines of ReAction, and Legacy. Like I don't need an entire line of figures from The Rocketeer, I don't even need an entire line of figures from Escape from New York. So if they were to give us a set of six figures, like say The Rocketeer, Snake Plissken, John McClane, Riddick, El Mariachi, and Dirty Harry, I think that would be really cool. I mean you could use anyone, but just as an example. I think stuff like Blade Runner, BSG, Willow, Mad Max, 5th Element, Pulp Fiction, etc., you're going to be able to rollout at least one wave because of diverse characters, but that doesn't hold true for every single Cult Classic film or show imo.
