Yes, I did try the search function to see if this had been asked before and couldn't find anything. So my apologies if this has already been addressed.
I recently went to add a few songs to a newly purchased iPod Nano, when I was prompted with a screen letting me know that some of the songs I wished to add couldn't be located. Very rarely do I ever touch any of my music files, and when I do, it's only to add more music and then load it into iTunes.
In other words, I never delete anything off my PC music related. And if I do ever delete it, it's via iTunes.
Anyways, so I have attempted to locate these 80 songs, they are completely gone. Not in the original folder they would have been loaded from. Not in the iTunes folder that I consolidated to a few months ago. They are just completely gone.
Does anyone know what causes this, and what I can do to either fix it or stop it from happening? I'm glad to have a list of the songs missing, so I can slowly replace them, but I don't want to have to do this all the time.
