i kinda hope Joe lets Mariano play the OF during the Houston series. i think i remember Mo saying he always wanted to play the field. however he should absolutely be the one to throw the final pitch for the Yankees on this season and his career....so maybe let him start Gm2 and pull him out after an inning or 2. I mean, at that point they will have been eliminated from playoff contention officially so there will be nothing to lose. better to have those moments than just play out a wasted game to pad stats

Braves win their first division title in a while. It's exciting. But I fear for them in the playoffs. Too many injuries. Not me, I fear them. The Dodgers went 2-5 against them this year. The worst record of all teams bound for the playoffs. You should also fear the Yank, if the Dodgers make it that far. They already beat Ryu and Kershaw earlier this year. If the Dodgers somehow beat the Yankees in the World Series, I will still keep my word about buying a Hyun Jin Ryu shirt.

Might have fixed it, think it was my bookmark.
It was weird, everything was fine until I had a power outage, then when I got it back up, all my saved cookies/logins were gone and this one was the toughest to get to work

Good to see the Pirates finally make the post season after 19 seasons. If the Yanks can't make it out of the cellar I'd love to see Cleveland hold on and be able to win the play-in game.

The worst record of all teams bound for the playoffs. I think it is important for the Braves to keep the #1 seed, so that we avoid the Dodgers in the 1st rd. I don't want to have to face Kershaw in a short series. I am not confident in the Braves beating anybody in a series, but I'm optimistic. We have been cruising since the All star break, maybe we have another gear.

Good to see the Pirates finally make the post season after 19 seasons. Yes it was. And of course the day after they clinced a Playoff spot my daughter's high school had jersey day. So I dug in the closet and pulled out my Pirates 92 Authentic home & away (favorite) jerseys along with my warmup jersey and Cooperstown collection Pirates jersey and what does she say!? I don't want to wear those they're losers. oh, the hurtful words from my own child. lol Here I've kept these for years waiting for the day they'd be pulled out again...I thought finally someone will get use out of these seeing they haven't come close to fitting me since I injured my back after she was born in 98. lol

And mercifully....the 2013 Season is over for the New York Yankees. These last 4 games are meaningless, and then us Yankee fans can settle in for another long offseason of no free agent signings, and prepare for the 2014 season, which will likely be WORSE than 2013 was.
I think Hank and Hal have a decision to make. They need to decide if they are in or out. And if they are going to try and get under $189, they might as well just put the cheapest team on the field as possible. I mean, why spend $188 and finish 4th? They should just get the payroll down as low as they possible can, use whatever kids they have, and just forget about it. Don't even bother bringing back Cano.
It could take 5 years for the Yankees farm system to develop anything tangible, so what the hell is the point of paying Cano $20 million dollars a year for years that the Yankees have no chance at winning anything? If they aren't going to field a productive team around Robinson Cano, I say just let him walk.
The Yankees need to play some 2000's Tampa Bay Devil Rays baseball...finish with the worst record in the game for 6-8 years, load up on #1 Draft picks, and try and get in a position to where we have a loaded farm system and are cranking out Even Longoria's, David Price's, James Shield's, Matt Moore's, Alex Cobb's, and players of that potential on a YEARLY basis like Tampa Bay has every year since their turn around in 2008.
The Boss must be rolling over in his grave. I bet he fired Billy Martin in heaven today just for the hell of it...

The Yankees would end up winning 87 games even if they tried to tank
