PPV Series? Over the Limit? Extreme Rules? Survivor Series? Elimination Chamber? Why did they stop doing them? Does anyone know why?
I also remember them doing WM 2-packs, elite series and basic series.
Has Mattel answered why they stopped the PPV Series?

They haven't really eliminated them, I don't think. They just started mixing them in as part of the basic line, if I'm correct. For example; WrestleMania Heritage 3 & 4 were basic series 16 & 26. Royal Rumble Heritage 2 was basic series 14. Plus they've done @ least 2 RAW Supershow sets (18 & 25). As far as the WrestleMania sets go, they were TRU exclusives & have basically been replaced by the Best of PPV Build A Figure/Set sets.

They did away with the PPV and Heritage series they were doing every other basic series but they decided to bring them back. At least they did for Basic 26. I dont see a big deal in this anyway. They are just doing some diff things like "World Champions" in Basic 29.

They did away with the PPV series to put out a new basic series every month. If they hadn't, it would be an even longer wait for guys like Sandow, Tensai, and other new characters because they would only have a slot once every two months. The updated attires were nice, but unnecessary. Now, you'll get a basic themed series like World Champions, Wrestlemania Heritage, or Global Superstars.

But even with getting rid of them and going to 1 basic set a month that has themes like champions or WrestleMania it means we will wait for names like Sandow and Tensai because they wouldn't put them in the themed sets like that. They wouldn't fit in the champions set and they wouldn't make, for instance, a Basic A-Train for the WrestleMania set so it really doesn't seem to make a difference.

... predictability? The milk man, the paper boy, evening T.V You miss your old familar friends, but waiting just around the bend.
Everywhere you look (everywhere) There's a heart (there's a heart) A hand to hold on to. Everywhere you look (everywhere) There's a face of somebody who needs you.
When you're lost out there and your all alone A light is waiting to carry you home Everywhere you look.

I remember the PPV sets, for the most part, always sticking around for far too long. That EC set with Drew Mac gives me nightmares as does the last Survivor Series one. It was more practical for them to consolidate everything into the main Basic line.

I like the Idea if they have a cool only worn once attire(CM Punk/Bret Hart),People like Austin shouldn't be in it.
