This is a little hard for me. Some of my family/relatives don't support my wrestling collection. It's like if I receive one single figure my cousin says I'd rather spend the money on clothes. Does anyone else have this problem? And what did you do to solve your problem?

My mum moans whenever I buy a new figure. But it's my money so I don't really care. I have been selling a lot of my old toys etc from the attic which is kinda paying for them too, and these don't take up half as much space as they did. So technically I'm doing her a favour!

My Mum doesn't bother. My dad normally says " that looks smart" , especially when I order CM Punks from the internet or Toys R us. He loved it when I built Ricardo.

I've never had anyone be aggressively unsupportive or anything but I do get a lot of eye rolling or 'oh god' whenever new figures are added to my collection.

Who cares if the support it or not. You aren't collecting for them. It's YOUR hobby why care what anyone else thinks.

My mum and dad don't care. My sister mocks me, but not in a nasty way, in a sibling way. My girlfriend thinks it's cool and my Grandparents fund me whenever I need something because they themselves collect things!

If buying figures is the worst thing you can do with your money, consider it a good thing. Its not like you are blowing it on drugs and other crap.

My dad gives me look of you're a weirdo, but the rest don't care,I don't tell my friends. this is what i get. i live with my dad and he is semi retired now so he really just sits at home all the time. sometimes i get big boxes from RSC that are shipped with the mattel labels that say WWE toys on them. ill get home and he'll say stuff like "your TOYS got here today." a little bit of sneer in his voice. im sure deep deep down it kills him to know that his 23 year old son is still buying wrestling figures, but it is nothing that causes a rift between us. im sure he would much rather me spend my money on other things and he is a little more hesitant to lend me money on the rare occasions i ask, but otherwise he hasnt scolded me for buying them or anything. its never something that comes up in conversation either. its not really something i tell my friends either because none of them were ever into action figures or stuff like that. they would never really understand what motivates me to buy them even at this age in my life. i dont think they would look down on me or want to distance themselves from me, but they would think it would be quite silly and i would constantly get ribbed for it.

It's more a look of question, considering he despises wrestling(thanks gran). He's cool if I ask him to order them for me though.

I've said before that almost everyone collects SOMETHING. My dad collects gun, my mom collects old fashioned home decor, and my girlfriend collects DVD's. There's nothing wrong with collecting something you enjoy as long as it's in moderation and you can afford it. If someone gives you crap just remind them you bought the figures on the dime YOU earned.

I'm a grown man with a great job, and I collect. My wife doesn't love it, but also knows it is a small escape for me. We have a young child, so this allows me to have a hobby I enjoy. Buddies probably think it is a little strange, but I'm not a golfer nor do I collect guns, cars, etc, so this is my outlet.
My only advice would be if this effects your life financially, it isn't smart. Make sure you have the necessities in life before you spend $20 on a figure. Otherwise, enjoy!

I was raised watching wrestling on both my mom and my dads side of the family. My mom thought it was weird till she saw my whole collection...she now really loves the Legends line because its all the guys that she watched back in the day. My dad also thought it was odd till he went on a figure hunt with me and saw how detailed Mattel figures are. I asked my dad what he wanted for his birthday last week and he said he wanted an Undertaker action figure (His favorite wrestler). I hooked him up with an E18 & 20-0 Undertaker that I already had as trade bait and he marked out. He is now 53 and said he will be collecting figures. lol.

That is the best story ever.I wish I could have done the same for my Grandma with Eddie before she died.

They like to call them my dolls and I remind them that they are "action figures" lo now i feel better , ,im 30 and collect. But ur collecting has to be done in moderation. I have sold many old toys from my childhood to compensate for the outrageous prices of my hobby. After all they made the Elite collection for Adults really. So you can always use that as an out when someone asks.
