I saw Mario and Yoshi yesterday. They both look good, at first glance, Mario looks JUST like SH Figuarts' version (although I'm sure the articulation is far less. Yoshi doesn't look like he moves much, but he's in good scale if you have the Figuarts Mario, and he's only $8.99, so I'll probably grab him.
Curious to see how the others look.

I'm far too lazy to post the pics, but if you look around this thread there's a ton of them: thefwoosh.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=86808&start=210Mario is about as good as Bandai. Sculpt isn't as good and hips don't have as much motion, but the arms are actually better and the sculpt isn't bad by any means. I'm really looking forward to what Jakks does with this line.

I tried to find Link at one more Target in my area, but they only had two Marios. I did find Bowser and Donkey Kong at TRU. Bowser has some heft and weight, but it's mostly in the torso/head. The legs and arms feel hollow and the plastic is probably thinner. They're not super poseable, just enough to give a little variety. DK has an ab crunch. (Mario is the figuarts version)

Went to the Target closest to me and they only had Mario & Yoshi. I also grabbed Diddy as I think he fits in pretty well being smaller plus he's one of my favorites. I checked the other Target near me and luckily they had one Link.

I was able to find Mario and Yoshi from the World of Nintendo line 4" line. I really like them both, but I only bought Yoshi cause I already have the Figuarts Mario. I REALLY want Bowser and DK though. I also liked everyone in the 2" line but just can't have another line to collect right now!

I found Bowser & DK at TRU and they are pretty cool. I was shocked to see them priced at $14.99, I figured they would cost at least $20.

I wanted to share this with you all, because this Mario figure is truly epic! Jakks have been doing a wonderful job with their World of Nintendo line.

That's a great collection of Mario. I don't remember ever seeing the two larger Marios on the left and right.

You're entitled to your opinion but personally I think it's a bit of an overstatement to say Jakks have been doing a wonderful job with their Nintendo line. So far I've found the line pretty underwhelming. The figures are only average quality, and they have barely scratched the surface in terms of possible characters and different looks of characters over the years.

I would hope they come out with other licenses. Figures that would look great at 20 inches for use with normal 3.75 figures. I can think of a few. Galactus, Stranger, Sentinel, Apache Chief...the list goes on and on.
But I am not buying a 20 inch Mario, John Cena, or Darth vader.

So far I've found the line pretty underwhelming. The figures are only average quality, and they have barely scratched the surface in terms of possible characters and different looks of characters over the years. I respect your opinion, but I have to stand by what I said earlier. Reason why is because I have collected Nintendo stuff since I was a little kid, I remember when the Mario Kart 64 toys came out (Yoshi, Mario, & Bowser was series 1). Those toys were so awesome back then, and years and years went by with NO normal Nintendo styled figures. In 2008 the Popco line of Mario figures came out and they looked nice, but the few that moved hardly moved at all. In 2011 K'NEX released their Mario Kart line and they made some really nice little figures since 2011. So if you look at it that way collectors have been waiting on a series like this for a very long time. It is great to have a 4 inch Mario, Yoshi, and Link complete with items, nice articulation, and a good price point. Not only that, but they released a large Bowser and DK figure. Now I have waited for a large Bowser figure that looks nice for many years, and the one that Jakks released blows every other Bowser figure I have ever seen out of the water. Jakks also delivered with the 2-3 inch figures (they could have added a few characters from other games in that set though). I feel Jakks really hit a homerun with their first series of these figures. I'm sure more will come but Jakks probably wanted to start Series 1 off with some of the most well known Nintendo characters and that is what they did.

I'm sure more will come but Jakks probably wanted to start Series 1 off with some of the most well known Nintendo characters and that is what they did. Oh don't get me wrong, I completely agree that fans and collectors have been waiting a long time, and that some of these figures are the best ever made of that character. But I still feel they are only "toy" quality figures (which obviously creates the price point you like, which is fine) but personally I'd rather they be "collector" quality and a little pricier. And in regard to future series', I'd LIKE to believe we might see true-classics like: -Zelda Link To The Past style Link -Zelda Ocarina of Time style Link -Super Metroid style Samus -F-Zero classic style Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh, Pico, Dr. Stewart (with scale cars would be amazing) -Killer Instinct classic style all characters -Starfox classics Or even branch out the line to cover classic Sega franchises too, such as: -Alex Kidd -Golden Axe -Sonic -Streets Of Rage -Wonder Boy etc But I'm not getting my hopes up. I would lay money that Jakks will make only a VERY FEW of these characters, and only in their most modern looks. My point is I don't have faith that Jakks will cater to the classic fans much, and will base their character selection off only current games instead of true NES/SNES/N64 classics. I guess I was really hoping Jakks getting this license would bring us a collector quality figure line that EXTENSIVELY covered CLASSIC Nintendo characters and looks. But so far it seems it's just toy quality and only a select few modern characters and looks.

I'm surprised they didn't reuse old parts from the WWE Ring Giants line.

I honestly do not see the appeal to these giant figures. I see them and am reminded of a girls toy doll, something a child could cradle in their arms and pretend it's a baby. I guess if it was a piggy bank I might be interested, but other than that I see it as a giant paper weight.
That said, I'll say I hope this works out for Jakks. When I go to toy stores I tend to look at who the manufacture is on toys and I've seen Jakks get clearance'd out a number of times. Often times I want to see the toy line succeed but it hasnt been the case with Jakks.
I really liked the S.L.U.G. Zombie toys from jakks and those got cleared out. Same with the LOTR wrestlers, the toy train line, the building toy line, and Chavo figures, just to name the ones I liked.
