^ Agreed. I think Jakks just assumes that "Nintendo" means "Mario" and "Zelda". Even that is a stretch considering they haven't even done any classic Mario figures (as in articulated proper figures based on the classic artwork designs, non-moveable pixel standees are not figures) and barely any classic Zelda figures - what have they covered like 3 Zelda games in barely as many figures? And the OOT link looks like utter crap in my opinion. Looks like it was sculpted by hand in the mid-90s for a dollar store plaything, not with modern computer aided design and with collectors in mind. I was just basing my comment on the fact that with as many figures as they've put out in the micro, 2.5", 4", 6", and plush lines, almost every character Jakks has done has some sort of connection to either the Mario or Zelda franchises except for...what...Metroid and Samus, the StarFox crew, Pikmin, and the Animal Crossing Villager? That's freakin' weak. Now, maybe there is a licensing issue here...who knows...but if there is, I think Jakks should just be up front and honest and say: "We can't do a lot of these properties, so don't expect it."

There's definitely more licensing stuff than most may realize. This "Nintendo master license" doesn't mean "Everything except Pokemon", there's several popular franchises that are co-owned. I know Kirby and Earthbound both are, F-Zero might be. I don't think Punch Out is, so hopefully we get a Little Mac eventually, but yeah, it's very confusing to know exactly what they have the rights to.

Assassin has been pretty hard on this line from the start but his criticisms are valid. Also anyone on this board that went through Jakks' WWE run understands the skepticism towards that company when it comes to quality, detail, and fan service. I think Nintendo's deal is that they've come up with the master style for their characters and are very strict on keeping that look uniform across all mediums- at least for Mario Bros. It was something early on that they didn't do. Like we won't be getting a Mario that looks like the artwork from Mario 3, if I was a betting man. Things like that we can only hope a company like Figuarts decides to tackle. It would be so cool if they did classic figures in the open-up window boxes styled like the classic NES games. Like you have a big gold box that is designed after Legend of Zelda for NES, and you open the flap and inside behind a plastic window is Link based on the art with some accessories- not unlike what I have seen them do with certain classic NES game characters like Jason, Predator, etc... We really do deserve a classic line based on the artwork. I don't know about you but when I was a kid those instruction manuals and that artwork is what brought the story to life in your imagination, and made the games better. We didn't have the luxury of voice actors and incredible motion graphics.... we had ingenius game design, incredible artists, and a few bad translations along the way.

I never realized how much of a Judge Dredd rip off Captain Falcon was meant to be.

I REALLY want a Captain Falcon figure. I dont even like f-zero that much, but in Smash bros they made him pretty OP. I could live without Ice Climbers and Ness, but why not if they can. Wish we had a Bill Miekina to consult for Jakks Nintendo.

He seems like such a no brainer for Figma/Figuarts. Lots of detail with a big transparent Falcon Punch accessory. Don't know how we didn't get one when SSB4 came out.
And even though I have the 3D printed Ness and Lucas (that I still never finished), I'd still love a real Ness. I love Earthbound though. I want the other main characters too.

Found the new 2.5" at TRU today. Was really surprised since I didn't know these were hitting yet. Just got Metroid. About what you'd expect. Very cool though. Bob-omb is pretty big, which is weird, kind of wish they just gave us Bowser Jr's again. But after thinking about it, these can be the ones from Mario 64. I'll grab one if I see it outside of TRU where they aren't $7. A pink repaint would be neat. Saw the 4" wave too. I have what I want, but grabbed Zelda, Slippy, and Skull Kid for some friends.

Wish we had a Bill Miekina to insult for Jakks Nintendo. This is how I first read that lol. Though to be fair I am so frustrated with Jakks' handling of the Nintendo line I probably would find it rather difficult to be civil to any rep that did engage with the fans since they'd likely once again just keep saying they "want to" or are "going to" do everything but it would just prove to be lip service. It's just a way of dodging questions and being vague to get the fans to shut up and go away so they can resume doing the bare minimum and not giving a crap, and likely being eager to give up on the line the instant they've skimmed the surface and hit all the guaranteed-massive-sellers (i.e. modern designs, only the most popular characters, cheaply made products aimed at kids). It's just so disheartening to know how much untapped potential this line has in terms of classic, collector-aimed figures, and how many passionate and knowledgeable Nintendo fans are out there. Jakks doesn't deserve this license.

Found a Zelda for my Smash Bros display even though her down-B into Sheik is probably her best move.

Took the dive and brought a little Jakks Goomba after getting the big one. I actually think I like these ones more than Figuarts. The paint isn't as sharp and sculpting isn't as smooth, but the colors pop a lot more up on the shelf, which from a distance, is what matters more. Already grabbed a couple more. I went through every checkout lane at a Walmart looking for multiples, but I'm being picky with paint since these are so plentiful.

If you're looking for 4" Slippy and Falco, they're on Walmart.com. I just ordered a Falco for my brother.

Wrong thread but the new Figma twilight princess figures do look good. I just wish Figma would go back to the earlier games, i.e. Link To The Past (which could easily be done by slightly retooling the LBW version) and Ocarina Of Time. And though I wouldn't buy it myself, I'm sure a lot of people would love a Figma based on the original Zelda game artwork. A MGS 1 Solid Snake is also a baffling omission from their line. But anyway, let's get this back on topic to the Jakks Nintendo line: I see Jakks have yet again repeated their usual lip service line that they "are planning to"/"want to" make more Zelda figures: SOURCE: www.toyhypeusa.com/2016/09/09/ask-jakks-qa-with-craig-drobis-september-2016/Hopefully one of these days they'll actually walk the walk instead of just talking the talk. But I'm not holding my breath.
