What student is going to want to play for them? No matter what is ever said is a positive note for Penn State, it'll always come back to this. This is a wound that will never heal. Not now, not five years from now, not ever.

Seriously I was just thinking the EXACT same thing! Not only future players but current players as well.

Well once this regime is gone, future kids and people shouldnt have to be punished for Paternos mess. Punishment should cripple this school and make them clean house, and it will.

Jesus, and I thought the death penalty was gonna be bad. That would have been better than this.
Well deserved, though.

I can't help but think of all the die hard fans that went so far as to either have the Penn State logo or Joe Paterno tattooed on themselves.
Sucks to be them!

' This is MUCH worse than the death penalty. For the next 5 years it is. Onward they'll be able to recover. This! Outside of the $60 million dollar fine, this really isnt THAT bad of a punishment for the football team. Personally I dont feel that the football team should be punished. The kids on the team and ones that will come through did nothing involving this case. I wish they could revoke the bowl ban and let the kids play but whatever money the school earns by playing in a bowl should be added on to the $60 Million they have to pay out to charities. In 1995, University of Miami lost 31 scholarships and had a 2-3 year bowl ban I believe and by 2000 they were fielding the most dominate college football team every assembled. PSU no doubt is going to have some rough years the next 5-10 years but they can easily come back from this once everything is cleared. PSU is, was and always will be considered one of the "powerhouse" schools of Division 1 football so you're always going to attract players once all the bowl bans are done. Its just going to take time is all.

Listening to Penn State fans complain about any sort of punishment is so frustrating, as most want to know how the incident was related to football.
