The next series of 1994 WWF figures was Assortment 7577, otherwise known as the “Purple” carded set. This set was supposed to consist of: Ted DiBiase 3, Doink, Scott Steiner, Rick Steiner, Hacksaw Jim Duggan 2 and Brutus Beefcake 3. Unfortunately Beefcake was scrapped and Tatanka took his place. No redeco on Tatanka either; cheap Hasbro bastiches! LOL! Here is a typical cardback from this assortment: Here is a sketch of Rick Steiner, notice the reused parts that are mentioned: Here is a pre-production sketch of “the Million Dollar Man Ted Hogan”; boy, other than Doink, this was the worst reused body part set Hasbro made: Here even is the prototype test shot of the “Tedster”: Next up: The Dark Blue Series!

Hasbromaniac, what parts did they use for Doink. Maybe I'm not seeing it through all the paint...Thanks for the pre-production pics of Rick Steiner and the Million Dollar Man. Always great!

Nice stuff as usual. I love the old promo pics. It's funny to see Hacksaw holding a flag from a GI Joe set I used to have, and who knows what else before that.

Great write up with pics again. I have that wohle series shame Brutus wasnt released.
I never noticed the proto image of hacksaw has the flag in the opposite hand later replaced for a hole in his thumbs up hand for the flag to slide through.

that Brutus would have been truely awesome to have. Would have displayed greatly with, well, any of the Hogans released. I actually liked the DiBiase body, because I thought it was horrible for Hogan. DiBiase was always really lanky looking, and that body captured it well. What parts were re-used for Doink?

Not sure what parts were used for Doink, as I don't have a loose set to compare pieces. Can anyone who has a loose Hasbro set help out Summerslam '88 ? Please remember anyones' pics are welcome here, carded or loose. Thanks to all for reading and contributing thus far!

Thanks again for that interesting column. Now I know why my Rick Steiner don't stand still like the other figs (or only if I get one arm in the right position): because they used two complete different body parts that don't fit each other. Does anyone else have also that problem with his Rick?
