You could also make a case and add Ted DiBiase Sr., Tito Santana and Bruiser Brody to the Texas list. All West Texas State alums.

Hmmmm....then I guess Davey Boy Smith, Dynamite Kid, Bad News Brown, the Rock could all be Canadian then.
I was thinking more of birthright Texan or Canuck.
Bobby Roode is Canadian, no?
It could get more complicated if we look at people billed from each area.....makes the lists different....Texas still has the upper hand in my opinion.

yea, you totally be 'part' canadian. canada is multiculturalism, period. That doesnt make any sense though. Like say I (A white American) move to Japan and marry a Japanese woman. She and I have a child. That child isnt "half American", its Half Asian, Half Caucasian. Now because of United States laws, I believe if you're the child of an American Citizen that gives you citizenship to the United States but I personally havent heard that for Canada. I dont know the laws there all that well.

For the NWA? Barry Windham. If you count AWA (which I did for Martel and Hansen) then you can add Fritz Von Erich. I wasnt even thinking AWA... Was Barry's NWA title voted on? I thought it was the beginning of the seperation with WCW. I guess debating quality of reigns and lengths would need to be done around a table with beers. Fruitless, but fun. crap, Texas might even trump Japan...but thats a whole new can of worms.... Im not sure if it was "voted" on exactly but I do know he is considered by the NWA as part of the linage. Pretty much if NWA recognizes it then Ill count it honestly.

NWA recognize Corino and Christian as being NWA World title holders. Do you count them?
Im struggling with considering their reigns to be on par with others, considering the prestige of the title, and the solo company that owns the belt.
Ron Garvin was an NWA world champ. Born in Montreal. I think he was billed out of South carolina.

While I do consider it apart of the NWA linage, I really dont consider the belt as prestige as it once was. Pretty much the linage died with Flair after he defeated Windham. It went from being arguably the greatest world title in wrestling to a title defended at Flea Markets. You're right about Garvin. I always forget he's canadian since he always tried to redneck himself up.

If you really want something else to think about, how bout this. Arguably the two most decorated wrestlers of all time, both come from Memphis Tennessee. Jerry Lawler and his Billions of Territory titles and Ric Flair with his 40 something NWA/WCW/WWF Championships.
Im going off topic now but just some food for thought.

I never thought to ask this question on here, but I assume now is as good a time as any. Was the original concept for Harlem Heat supposed to be Harlem, Texas? I know they were billed from 110th street or whatever but isn't Harlem, Texas right by Houston? I always wondered if that is where they got the name for the team. Not sure if Booker T has ever talked about that in a shoot or anything or if it was just a weird coincidence. Never knew there was a Harlem, Tx haha. But yea it was suppose to be about Harlem, NY. The Rock is part Canadian... Im pretty sure you cant be "part" Canadian. Its not something that can really be "passed down" through Generations. He wasnt born in Canada and as far as I know he's not a legal citizen of Canada so he's not Canadian. Rocky Johnson on the other hand, a legal citizen of Canada, is Canadian. What an asinine thing to say...you can't be part Canadian? Why not? It's a country/culture just like any other. His father was Canadian which makes Rock part Canadian. (not saying he should be included in Canadian talent though...)

You can add Billy Gunn and Blackjack Mulligan to the Texas list as well.
Also, Texas seems to be underrated in terms of wrestling for some reason, yet it has produced 3 of the G.O.A.T in Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker and a great promotion in WCCW. I'm not saying that it's widespread, but it seems that way as you never really hear anyone mention Texas when talking about wrestling legacy or heritage.

Its tough to make a definitive call, isnt it?
When you look at careers....some of the old timers were on top for three decades!
A guy like Eddy....amazing talent...but how long did he really draw on top? Same with Owen. Smetimes the brightest flames burn half as long.
The "best" is so personal, and subjective...and strictly looking at the numbers is deceiving considering its a work...yet in the past, the best was the one who drew...regardless of what kind of wrestler they were.
Some say Hogan was the best, since he made the most...but some will say Backlund...he was a much more accomplished amateur...but Backlund had a longer, uninterrupted run than Hogan....
Is it the best draw, the most titles, the most moves, the best matches?

Is it the best draw, the most titles, the most moves, the best matches? If this is was AAU/NCAA wrestling type stuff...Then I would def go with who was a better ring worker. However pro wrestling is a business...nothing more and nothing less. When looking at business, I look at people who draw money and what they accomplish in the business. Thus makes me lean towards Texas in this vote.

Agreed.
For the amount of money they drew...Texas goes over.
