Well, one of those I called as well, that being Kafka or Edwards being cut. We also signed Jacory Harris out of Miami so he's on the chart and will be fighting for a roster spot. Nice to have another Eagles fan on board, welcome to WF. I see the two of us getting along well when football season starts!

I hate, hate, HATE slideshow articles.
The only real bold prediction was saying the Eagles will win the division and that Vick will have his best season yet.

Don't be hatin' in slideshow articles, MF'ers.
Whether you like them or not, they're not going anywhere. So like non-consensual sex, you should learn to love it.

Don't be hatin' in slideshow articles, MF'ers. Whether you like them or not, they're not going anywhere. So like non-consensual sex, you should learn to love it. They are awful. I assume they generate more ad revenue or something and that is why sites use them. But from a reader standpoint, they are terrible. Honestly, 75% of the time an article I am interested in is in slideshow format, I just leave, and rarely go back to that site.

It increased pageviews, so yeah, in a roundabout way, it does increase ad revenue.
But honestly, the majority of people like the slideshow articles. It took me awhile to get into writing them, but now I'd say about 1/3 of my MMA articles are slideshows.

I hate bleacher report site all together. Once I realized (years ago) that it was basically just arm chair athletes writing their opinions and they had no ties to the sports or teams other then homerisms, I stopped going there. ESPN.com is getting just about as bad.

Some people I know are indifferent, but most people I have ever discussed it with, and seen discussing them online absolutely can't stand them. Out of curiosity where do you get that number from?

I got that info from the decision-makers at Bleacher Report who have seen their viewership rise while utilizing more of their slideshows to jump into the top-200 overall websites in America recently. It's something that they've talked about quite a bit and done a lot of analysis on. As it turns out, people are significantly more likely to share SLIDESHOWS on Facebook/Twitter/etc., particularly about sports, than they are standard op-ed articles. This has led to slideshows generating significantly more traffic, on average, than op-eds. bleacherreport.com/mma/archives/most_read?filter=allThe above link is a breakdown of the most-read articles on Bleacher Report (within the MMA section) over the past month. You'll notice that 19 of the top-25 most-read articles were slideshows. Of the remaining six, four of them were news-related (Mayhem Miller getting fired, Brock Lesnar and Dana White meeting, Arianny Celeste getting arrested) and only two of them were op-eds.

Interesting stats. I've got nothing to counter it. I wonder what the stats would be on completely identical articles in the different formats would be. I think my biggest gripe is having to wait for the slideshow to load between each slide. Not to mention that it degrades a lot of stories into top 10 lists and "X reasons why" or "top reasons why" something happened to justify having a slideshow. I guess I feel like it degrades the quality of journalism. I know a lot of people feel the same way, but maybe in today's short attention span world we are in the minority. That and trying to read a slideshow in a smart phone is murder.

Desean Jackson caught like 4 touchdowns IN A CONTRACT YEAR
Corners know how to stop him. Jam the hell out of him, frustrate him, and he quits.
Maclin will catch his 7-10, Avant is an aging, overrated slot receiver, and they really have no one else.

He admitted to letting his contract situation distract him, and he wasn't 100% focused on his play. He got his contract, he got his money. Look the f*ck out, is all I gotta say. Maclin will get closer to 10. Jax will get 10. And the tight ends are gonna play a bigger role this season too.

But that still doesn't take away from the fact that he's still a spoiled little douche who quits. Watch. Then add in the fact that Vick is NEVERRRRRRRR EVVVVVVVVVVVVERRRRRRRRRRRRR a guarantee for 16 games.

Mostly everything on Bleacher Report sucks. Not *everything*, but yes, I'd agree that about 85% of the stuff I read on there is just regurgitated leftovers.
