I'm a big fan of the WWE DVDs and I've seen quite a bit of them on Netflix and, lets just say from various other sources. I was jsut wondering what you all thought was the best one. I'm always more partial to the interview style DVDs like the Bret/Shawn rivalries or the career look back ones like the Dusty Rhodes or Piper or what have you. I'm also a really big fan of the ones like the WCCW or the AWA DVD, although I'm not 100% sure these are WWE DVDs. The match compilations like Taker or Edge's Decade of Decadence DVD are OK but not my favorite to watch. The countdown/list ones are a favorite of mine too like the ladder match DVD or the top superstar DVDs. I guess the day in the life sort of DVDs like Orton and Cena have are OK too. Which do you guys like best? I've got 6-7 of them on my hard drive that I have yet to watch that I'll be getting to like Stone Cold's newest one or Edge's newest one and I've got a Bret Hart one that I got from Toys R Us that I'll be getting too so I haven't sen all of them. If I'm being honest I can't really choose which one but I'm definitely more partial to the biography or documentary type DVDs as I'm a big fan of those movie genres regardless of subject. Yes I know I'm rambling but I jsut thought this might make a good topic for someone wondering what would be a good choice for a wrestling DVD. Side note, if you pick The Chaperone or The Marine I will have to respectfully ignore your opinion.

The Rise & Fall of ECW. That was the first dvd I was legit excited to see in a store and buy. I watched that 3 hour documentary more times than I care to admit back in 2005.

Since some of mine were already mentioned, I gotta go with Flair's first DVD and Bret's first DVD. Those wear near-perfect, infact Flair's first DVD was the first to go with the whole 3-disc thing which was HUGE at the time. We were all like "wow, Flair's got more clout than Hogan!" considering Hogan's DVD was only a 2-disc set and at the time a standard bearer. I really liked that one too.

I like NWO: back in black, the best of wcw nitro, Born to Controversy- the roddy piper story and Breaking the Code: behind the walls of Chris Jericho
I'm most into the documentaries. That said, the collection of piper's pits' is just awesome and mandatory viewing.

Like for a lot of people, number one for me is Rise and Fall of ECW. I also really loved The Triumph & Tragedy Of World Class Championship Wrestling. Was great that they were able to get Gary Hart as one of the people to speak on it since he was such a big part in the promotion, and not too long after the DVD was released he passed away.

My all-time most watched WWE dvd is The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior. I dunno what it is about that thing, but I love it. Plus, I have the FYE Exclusive 2 Disc set, so I get to see a couple LEGENDARY Warrior technical showcase matches.

Ditto, that's in my top 3 as well. The only thing I don't like about it is how much Michael Hayes got put over in it. The Freebirds were great, I love Terry Gordy, but they make Hayes out to be some kind of savior to the promotion. Hayes also kind of took away from Kerry Von Erich winning the NWA title and they didn't dig too deep into the politics involved with him losing it back to Flair. Gary Hart is awesome in the documentary though, as is Kevin, as always. R&F of ECW is really short on Raven. That's the only negative I have with that set.

Rise & Fall of ECW Ric Flair & The Four Horsemen Nature Boy Ric Flair: The Definitive Collection Shawn Michaels: Heart Break & Triumph The Epic Journey of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Stone Cold Steve Austin: The Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of All Time
Those are just a few. I agree with the people who said that they enjoyed Triumph and Tragedy of World Class, but between that documentary and Heroes of World Class Championship Wrestling, I prefer the latter.

Kind of surprised no one has said the Jake Roberts set yet. Man, what a raw and honest documentary. The guy is a ing mess and it's not exactly something that gets covered up. You also see how he grew up dysfunctional and how the script for The Wrestler was pretty much written. Good sh*t imo. Macho Madness is my favorite non documentary style DVD set so I figured I'd give that one some love too.

I need to watch this one again I wasn't even aware that this was a DVD. I'll definitely have to check this out when I can because I'm a really big Jake Roberts fan. One of the best talkers ever IMO. Also gotta check out that Rise and Fall of ECW since it seems to be a hit. I once tried to "legally rent it from Blockbuster" but "none of the copies they had worked."
