Gotta go with Bret. Bret got amazing matches out of everyone. Bret had several excellent matches with Yoko (best of his career) and carried Diesel to a hell of a match at Survivors Series.
Plus, during that time, Bret just had much much better feuds than HBK. His tag work with Anvil was better and more productive than the Rockers. His IC title feuds with Piper, Perfect etc. was better than the IC title feuds HBK had. And the main event feuds Bret had were infinitely better than Michaels, with Owen, Austin, Undertaker.
I honestly think HBK was much better in his second run. He put on better matches and had better feuds. During that time period, gotta give it to Hitman.

Bret Hart vs. Diesel from Survivor Series 1995 & Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect from King of the Ring 1993 are two of my all time favorite matches.

I voted "cop out" 'cause I didn't like either of them. I was always a mid-carder guy. Double J, Razor Ramon, Goldust, Billy Gunn etc.

His nickname said it all.........excellence of execution. Bret had awesome spots and every move he did was perfect. He never injured another wreslter and always tried to put on a good match even if it wasnt one of his friends, unlike shawn.

Shawn.
Between that time period, to be part of amazing matches like the Ladder Match at WMX and Hell in a Cell at Badd Blood '97, despite the whole 'losing his smile' and the incident after a match against Owen on RAW, he never failed to impress me.
Have a lot of respect for Bret as well, but I'm going with Shawn just ahead.
