There's a local TV channel that started recently and they've been showing WWF Superstars from1994 on Saturdays. It's pretty awesome. I'm guessing it's just because they had the tapes in storage. I'm really interested to see how long they keep showing them. I'm also hoping we get some other promotions (ECW, USWA, SMW)
But that's all tangential. I loved the New Generation. Looking back now, it's probably not my favorite era, but I was 11 when it started, so I never missed a show.

The presentation was really nice, loved the blue ring setup sticking around throughout the era too. It was like the Golden Age (85-93) regenerated (not like they had a choice with the losses of Hogan and Warrior).
My favourite matches off of the top of my head from that era: Bret Hart vs 123 Kid - RAW 1993 Bret Hart vs Bam Bam Bigelow - KOTR 1993 Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty - Cage 1993 Bret Hart vs Owen Hart - WM X Owen Hart vs 123 Kid - KOTR 1994 (good for a short match) Hakushi vs Bret Hart - IYH1 Bret Hart vs Diesel - SurSers 1995 British Bulldog vs Bret Hart - IYH5 Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart - IYH6 Shawn Michaels vs Diesel - IYH 7 Shawn Michaels vs British Bulldog - KOTR 1996 (one of my favourite matches of all time to watch) Mankind vs Undertaker - KOTR 1996 Shawn Michaels vs Vader - SS 1996 Bret Hart vs Steve Austin - SurSers 1996 The Final Four match - Final Four
Although there's plenty more.

No way. 1997 was definatly attitude era. WM13 seems to be when the new generation era died.

No way. 1997 was definatly attitude era. WM13 seems to be when the new generation era died. I tend to think a big portion of 1993 was New Gen as well. Hogan is gone, Flair is gone, Macho is relegated to commentary, and the product turns its focus to guys like Yokozuna, Bret, HBK, Razor, and Lex. If anything, no later than KOTR 93. As for 97, Bret denounced America, Austin was giving Stunners to Vince, Shawn and HHH were telling everyone to S*ck It, and Kane debuted out of the ashes of his burnt childhood. I unequivocally consider 1997 the first year of the Attitude Era.

No way. 1997 was definatly attitude era. WM13 seems to be when the new generation era died. They were still billing it as the New Generation. I don't disagree that there were elements of the attitude era during 1997, but throughout the whole year, WWF was still calling itself the New Generation. Hell, the WWF Attitude logo debuted at Survivor's Series 1997.

Its different I think for every fan but for me I class the New Generation from Wrestlemania X to Wrestlemania 13. And I see Royal Rumble 94 to Wrestlemania X as kind of the transitional period if you get what I mean, and like wise I see Wrestlemania 13 to Canadian Stampede (KOTR 97 at a push) as the transition from New Generation to Attitude Era.
Like I said every fan is different and no doubt my views will seem crazy to some lol

I don't think they officially started referring to the era as "The New Generation" until sometime in 1994. But...I could be wrong. They also didn't really refer to the attitude era until 99, but we all know it started in 97.

for me,personally, i consider the start of the "New Generation" to be KOTR 1993, when Bret Hart was made to look like a wrestling god,and Hogan jobbed on his way out the door. it felt like a full transition from the old guard to the new, younger guys.
for me the Attitude Era began at the Royal Rumble 1997, when a heel won the RR by nefarious means, Undertaker lost it and attacked referees, Ahmed Johnson was slamming people through tables, and even the ultimate "whitemeat babyface" (as he called himself) Shawn Michaels won the WWF Championship back by hitting Sid with a camera while the ref was down. seemed like all the rules were being thrown out the window, and even the "good guys" were starting to cheat.
