What a great promo video. Austin is easily in my top 5 favorite wrestlers of all time as an all around package.

This is why the WWE is so pathetic these days, because they don't have legit character's like this anymore. Austin made you believe in this type of promo, that he was a hard ass, not to be messed with.
This late 1996 period was my favourite Austin time, his promos and character was so fresh. I'd never heard anyone swear in wrestling before Austin, plus he was full on heel so his character wasn't water down. I always felt he became slightly watered down when he became face & WWF champ in 1998.

Never seen that before. Really cool.
I remember hearing this on Vol. 2 back in the day, and now I finally know where the lyrics came from.

Love this too
And while we're talking about him, I've seen some people call him a "showman" wrestler but not a GOOD wrestler. I'd just like to say, sure he doesn't do moves like Angle/Benoit/Daniel Bryan... but he IS a good wrestler and tells a hell of a story.

Austin was an incredible wrestler, and if it wasn't for his neck injury, his moveset wouldn't have gotten watered down to a brawler type. He could wrestle, hell he was probably as good as anyone before the injury, people that compare Cena to Austin as being two brawlers have it totally wrong. Austinw as a stellar wrestler.

I'm glad someone else sees it. All you have to do is look at his matches from WCW and even when he first came to WWF as the ringmaster. The man could go.

Austin was a friggin mechanic and even when his moveset had to be altered to the brawling type he was 1 million times better at it than ol whirlygig punch Cena.
anyone who compares Austin and Cena in ANY in ring respect-popularity,workrate,selling,awareness,psychology or promos needs their head reading TODAY.
cena cant hold Austins jock at any level.

The '96-'97 time is when those video packages really began to take off and make feuds even more interesting.
Agreed about the Cena/Austin comparison. Pisses me off anytime people TRY to compare the two. Impossible.

The thing with Austin too, even after the neck injury, he could still go in the ring, in an actual match. Best example to go with was in 2000, he had a match with Chris Benoit on Raw. It was from Benoit challenging him, and saying he'd beat him in a wrestling match, and then Austin actually wrestled him, it wasn't a brawl. It showed even with the neck problems, and by that time, both of his knees banged up, he could still actually wrestle a match. And remember too, part of the reason for Austin adopting the brawler ring style was because of his neck, but also, the Stone Cold character was more of the fighter type, than the wrestler type. Him being a brawler just fit into the character more, than going out, and wrestling a hold for hold match.

No problem. I actually loved the story to that match. Benoit challenges Stone Cold to a straight up wrestling match, thinking he'll beat him hands down. Austin then surprises both Benoit and the announcers buy going move for move with Benoit.
