Before Bret had the Hart Foundation idea Neidhart was scheduled to fued with Hogan, who was then the WWF champion. Could have easily resulted in Neidhart holding the title for a while before dropping back to Hogan.

I personally think the world was robbed out of a Anvil v. Bret feud, done properly.

Did Bret ever wrestle Neidhart 1 on 1? This is supposedly the only time they wrestled 1-on-1 and it was at MSG:

I always wondered why Yoko won the Rumble. Savage was in and out of retirement and came from announcing to last to the final 2. Then he doesn't even wrestle and Mania. Savage should have won the Rumble and faced Bret Hart.

I understand why people wanted Bret and Macho to go at it at WM9, but the bottom line is that if that happened, it would have left no top heels for Bret to face after WM. Yoko becoming a dominant heel all started at the rumble. If anything he probably would have lost a good chunk of his heel heat had he not won the rumble. I never had a problem w/ Yoko winning the title by cheating, but the Hogan thing should have never happened.
If Bret and Macho were to have a match in their primes, I would have prefered it to happen at SummerSlam 93. Yoko could have won the title at WM9 by cheating and still have gone onto his feud w/ Lex that summer. Bret questions if he is still "The Man," and Macho challenges him to a match where Bret makes him tap out. I was never big on Bret's feud w/ Jerry Lawler, and I think this would have been much better. Bret wins, and then the seeds could still be planted for his feud w/ Owen around Survivor Series 93.
