Has Brets reasoning for not appearing at Wrestlemania 22 ever been talked about? I just dont see why he would appear at the HOF and then not want to walk onto the stage at Wrestlemania. It just doesnt make much sense.

I think he was just uncomfortable since it was Wrestlemania and not the actual Hall of Fame ceremony. He had said his piece and got inducted the night before and probably didn't feel the need to be at Wrestlemania too.
Also, I believe he was asked to referee a match at Wrestlemania X8 which he declined as well.
It's so good to see Bret healthy and positive these days. It was rough seeing/hearing the old Bret still holding on to 1997 grudges.

As bash said, Bret was just uncomfortable appearing at WrestleMania. What exactly made him uncomfortable, nobody but Bret knows.
Also as Bash said, WWE had been trying to get Bret involved for a while. I believe they wanted him to referee the WWE Ttitle match at Wrestlemania X-8. There are other rumored involvement scenarios floating around.

I thought it was the bad blood with Shawn still? Like Shawn had to leave the HOF ceremony before Bret came on and since Shawn really couldnt leave mania, Bret just didnt show up?

I'm sure Shawn played a SMALL role because they hadn't made peace yet. However, I think it was more of Bret still being uncomfortable being on WWE television. |

Flair has a serious rant on one of his shoots about Hart wanting HBK elsewhere during his induction....man he really goes for the jugular. |

I think he didn't want to be around Shawn, if I remember correctly Shawn wasnt at the HOF that year was he?
