i like that even better JokerFC. the possibilities are endless for a pillman/austin fued. i often wonder why the put the halt on it and had him furd with golddust. puzzler for me too.......BUT the rub Rock got from his feud with Austin in late 97 was very important. indeed it was. that was one huge thing that sepparated WCW from WWF. making new stars and those stars putting people over. by the time WCW started doing this, they were already dead.

Pillman was always underrated to me. From his Hollywood Blonde days to his crazed gimmmick, he was always great to watch. Its sad that his accident happened when it did and he had to have the ankle fused as he was on the cusp of something really great. When someone says who was a great that never won a world title, Pillman is one that comes to mind, at least to me.

could have HBP. but remember, he wasnt involved in a whole lot due to his ankle being fused and being in so much pain every day from it. i think he would have been a solid guy to give the title instant credibility. Plus the title was introduced a month after his death and if he was still alive at the time I think his ankle would of been a bit better? And yeah I agree. He should of gotten a title out of the WWF though!

I think that Pillman's time in WWE would have been even bigger if not for the car wreck and his ankle being fused. If he could have still been able to work like before, it would have been amazing.

Pillman = The Originator of the Pipe Bomb!! Very true. He was real entertaining on commentary during his short "Shotgun Saturday Night" run.

Pillman is overlooked these days but he definitely had a huge impact on the wrestling business.
NO he would of never won the world title if he was still around then. Character wise he was hitting on all cylinders in the WWF but physically he had deteriorated.
Like someone said earlier by the time he got to the WWF his injuries and painkillers made him too unreliable for Vince to ever put a title on him.....now if he never had the accident then that's a different question and likely different answer.
Pillman vs Liger at Superbraw II blew away the first Nitro match. Also had a great match with Luger in 89 i think.

there was a moment i liked in wcw that makes me laugh. heenan had that he couldnt be touched in his contract because of his neck problems. pillman ran around the ring from somebody, grabbed heenan and hid behind him. heenan flipped out all pissed and stuff. that and his first nitro match with jushin thunder liger i remember that! Heenan : " What the F#$K ARE YOU DOING!!??!!" on a live headset,no less.... i remember the aftermath, too,of Heenan standing up and walking around for a good 10 minutes before he came back and apologized...

Pillman's in my all-time fave five...seriously.
The Hollywood Blondes are my all-time favorite tag team. Also, I loved how Pillman's character slowly morphed from this high-flying nice guy to a crazy, unbalanced nut. And what was genius was, he kept everyone guessing as to whether or not he really lost his mind.
After he passed, I thought I saw him everywhere. His passing was the first time a wrestling death really hit me.
Here's a video I made a couple years back...

IIRC the spot Dude Love had with Austin after WM 14 was originally booked for Pillman, gotta say that I'm sad to know that if it were true. Pillman was a true innovator in the lightweight division, along with Owen Hart, bringing the highflying to the U.S., yeah Dynamite Kid had done it before but those 2 really made an impact with that style. Then, Pillman basically created CM Punk's pipebomb motif years before Punk even wrestled a match. Had Pillman not been in that car wreck that ed his ankle, I think the Attitude era would've had Brian Pillman up there next to Austin, Rock, Foley, Taker, HBK, and HHH not only in terms of match/promo/storyline quality, but popularity as well.
