I got my empty Hartfoundation box in on Saturday. It was the end of my 15 year mission to complete the LJN Tag Team sets. I always divide my collection in smaller sub collections and focus on completing each one at the time. The sub collection of the LJN Tag Team was at the very top of my wish list. When I started to watch wrestling the Tag Team division was awesome. I have been a fan eversince. Wanted to share pictures (I also took a picture of a LJN Value 2-pack):
Hillbilly Jim & Hulk Hogan
British Bulldogs
Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff
The Hartfoundation
Strike Force
The Dream Team
The Killer Bees
Hercules Hernandez & Billy Jack Haynes Value 2-Pack
[/b][/center] The Hartfoundation is one of the rarest sets to get. It hardly pop op on eBay and when it does it sells for $ 650 +. Sheik & Volkoff appear to be the common ones of the set. Strike Force was a later addition and oddly enough the championships belts included are black world title belts instead of the brown tag team belts. Also, the poster included is a picture poster instead of the 'drawn' poster. Odd set out -in my opinion- is the Hillbilly Jim & Hulk Hogan set. I do remember them teaming up on occassion, but not that often. I guess LJN just needed to get a Hulk Hogan figure in this set. If so... adding Orndorff or JYD would have been a better, more logical choice as Hulk tagged up with them more often. Hope you'll enjoy the pictures.

Awesome pics and congrats on reaching your goal! Either The Hart Foundation or the Killer Bees are my favourites.

Weird set Hogan and Hillbilly, I guess both were popular enough (with the kids) to sell together. Never saw that Hercules/Haynes 2-pack, alltough an obvious choice

Never saw that Hercules/Haynes 2-pack, alltough an obvious choice These Value 2-packs were just overstock figures thrown in randomly. Basically figures that hadn't sold through regular sales. Many combinations should exists of the common figures.

Well, Hogan "broke" Hillbilly Jim into the business, so I always figured that's why they put them together. Congrats of completing all the tag teams. Never saw the value packs before. Interesting.

Good job on completing your sets! Quick question though, has anyone seen or own the Hart Foundation, Strike Force or the Killer Bees in non-Canadian boxes ?

Thanks for the pics & congrats on finishing your set. I still have the Hogan/Hillbilly & Sheik/ Volkoff. I can actually remember getting the Hogan/Hillbilly & LJN ring for my birthday at Dairy Queen. Oh my God that just took me back.

That IS Awesome, another achievement in the great collection of STOM! Congrat's man, you're probably one of the EXTREMELY very few to have all 7 set's MIB (I know ya won the Foundation Box, but the fact it's still in such good condition doesn't hurt it at all... Unless you got a MOC Hart Foundation too that I missed...)

great pics STOM and thanks for sharing but I believe the "odd set-out" should really be that value 2-pack of Hercules and Billy Jack Hayes.
From my best recollection these two never teamed up together - in fact they had a bitter feud going for a while, a certain highlight feud in both of their career bios.
So they were never truely a tag team.
As for Hogan and Jim, yeah they probably teamed up before because Hogan would tag team with mid-card faces to take on the bad guys all the time.

It's just a Value Pack, not a Tag Team set. However, nicely put together as they feuded like you said (which is why I found it to be an obvious choice).

Simply amazing, STOM. Thanks for the pictures. I (like others) am completely jealous of your LJN collection (damn my parents for convincing me to sell mine in a yard sale 15 years ago!).

Congratulations, Stom. You might need to buy a new house just for your collection, BTW.

Nice to see you complete your tag team collection. IMO, if they had to put hogan in the tag team set then Hillbilly Jim was the perfect person for the set, I only remember Hogan teaming with JYD in cameo apperances and teaming with orndorff for a few tv shows before the benedict arnold turn (that's when I became a orndorff fan) as for a "tag team" partner, I don't remember hogan teaming with anyone more then hillbilly (before the macho man of course).................. Do you have all the tag teams on single cards as well? and in your opinion, which is rarer on the single cards The Hart foundation or the British Bulldogs?

Unfortunately not yet.... still need both Harts, Strike Force Tito and both Bulldogs. I still have many loose LJNs which I need to replace for MOCs. It's an activity on the side. If there's nothing new to buy I'll buy a LJN MOC. From the Tag team wrestlers the Bulldogs appear to be somewhat rarer than the Harts. There's always a MOC Hart on eBay (which usually selles for $ 500 or so), but hardly ever a Bulldog. The Killer Bees are easier to find for some reason.
