I know wrestlemania's had that tone (Linda McMahon's entrance) but no lyrics, Survivor Series 98 had deadly games. Was there any earlier? I cant remember any from 1999 or early 2000. When did they come regularly?

Summerslam 1998 had Highway to Hell, thats the earliest I can remember, using a mainstream song

The March WWE Magazine had a feature having every ppv theme song since 2002(ask if you want to know a certain ppv theme)but yeah its been pretty much always using them

Good shout on highway to hell summerslam 98, but in them days not all ppvs had songs , some had wwe produced ppv themes, WM X7 with my way was a big stand out tune IMO

WWE produced most of the theme songs up until the 2000s.

I was thinking they always had theme songs but most of them were "stock themes" until the 90s and then they got more common with recording artists.

They first started getting used on a regular basis from SummerSlam 2001 onwards ("Bodies"). WMX7 had "My Way" SummerSlam 98 had "Highway To Hell"
