The Muhammad Hassan character is one that comes to mind when you talk about failed characters that could have worked. If I were the WWE and UPN forced me to get rid of the Muhammad Hassan character, what I would've done was go for Hassan beating Undertaker. Then the next night, he'll appear on RAW and attack Cena then reveal that Eric Bischoff worked things out with Theodore Long and resigned with RAW and Eric Bischoff promised him a title shot for the WWE Title if he beat the Undertaker.

Max Moon was a great gimmick. I also liked Nailz. There were some very interesting gimmicks in the early to mid-90's. Some of them I wish stayed around alittle longer. Others I liked: Mantaur Duke Droese Knuckleball Mortis (WCW) Skinner Papa Shango Skinner lasted almost 3 years from late 1991 to early 1994, Duke Droese 3+ from late 1993 to early 1997 (!!!), and Papa Shango from late 1991 to late 1993. These would not be "failed gimmicks" under any stretch of the word

Go watch porn then if you want more of her. I for one find her to be ugly as hell, and those tits that are overdone worse than any current divas aren't a turn on for me either.

Duke Droese did sort of well against Lawler and Helmsley but Skinner and Shango were failures in terms of their position on the card. Shango got a terrible fued with Warrior and was quickly on the losing end of matches. He didn't make anyone dissapear in the royal rumble as Heenan suggested (which would have been awesome. Maybe make a cloud of smoke and Gonzalez appears!) and was eliminated within a few seconds. All the effort put into the Shango outfit and gimmick and they didn't even use him well. Skinner was a lower card guy and didn't win much and even if his WM 8 match with Owen wasn't on time contrainsts he would've lost to a guy who too was a low card wrestler. At the royal rumble 93 you could even tell in Gorilla's statement (something Skinner happy to be included) that a lower card guy like him wouldn't even get a HW title opportunity. In terms of lasting long they all were successful but they were probably good employees (they kept bringing Shango back until they found the one thing that fit), or well respected by peers but they just didn't have the gimmick that made them succesful.

Yeah, me too. I wanted more Ariel. I do miss Shelly in the Ariel roll. Really, once she crossed Big Dave backstage and got canned, it really started the end to Thorn's WWE run. And really, with talks of Thorn, the ECW New Breed was another you can really put in there. It was a time, at least I thought, where the old school vs. the new school style feud, worked, and could have and should have worked better, especially when they had Vince 'handpicking' Elijah Burke as the new face of ECW. But I'm sure that some of Burke's backstage attitude had part to do with it, and then Monty Brown's departure hurt the group too.

Yeah, Waylon Mercy should have worked.
Also, Ludvig Borga's gimmick was great and I LOVED it but he just couldn't wrestle... The Berzerker should've made it, too. I liked that gimmick.

I think Mexicools would have gotten over more too if they had vignettes leading into their debut, with them cutting grass at peoples houses and messing up by cutting over shrubs or flowers.

Cryme Tyme should have been a lot more successful. Those guys got some great reactions. Its a shame they didnt even win the tag titles. And I always thought Deuce & Domino could have lasted way longer than it did. Crack 'Em In The Mouth was an awesome tag finisher.
