I absolutely freaking LOVED the Backlund reign. 10 years after he was never pinned or surrendered he got what was "his" back. Showing the world that it was Old school that truly did still rule and not only that he got it back the exact same way he lost it. I thought the build up to it was awesome. Same! I have always remembered this fued even though I was young and I can't remember much from them days. Buck land in my eyes looked like a real threat who just came out of no where (as I didn't know who he was at the time apart from him been a old school wrestler)

Oh to add a underrated I think Adam Bomb. I still be leave he would have made a great top tier wrestler maybe even Champ! Heard the Klix was his downfall like so many others Bryan Clark and Brian Adams were both really entertaining guys in my opinion. That is why I loved Kronik so much, and as a team, I think those guys only scratched the surface on what I thought they were capable of really. I don't think the Adam Bomb character was built to be a main eventer, he was too much Duke the Dumpster Droese like imo, but I think Bryan Clark, even as Wrath really, had the potential to be a top guy, or at least high mid carder, if he had a great mouth piece with him. In terms of his two releases, I am sort of indifferent. The first one is gray (especially if you have heard Nash and Shawn talk about what Vince asked them and that day in the locker room about the list of guys on the roster at the time) but the second one with him and Adams just not wanting to be in development is sort of something I disagree with personally. I mean Big Show got sent down, it wasn't as big of a deal as they made it. Plus, they spent two years as a team in WCW where they had little to no supervision so it wasn't really that shocking that they weren't that polished in WWE. Plus, the match at Unforgiven was real bad. Sean O'Haire, Jindrak, Stasiak, Palumbo, all those guys did the developmental thing. Kronik got a pass because they had been in WWE before but WWE obviously felt that they could use a little work. I am sure they would have been brought back up. Sad for me, and others, as a Kronik fan. I would have liked to see them get a good run in WWE as a team from 01-04ish.

Great topic!
Overrated
1. X-Pac - I cannot stand him for the life of me. He seemed to be the biggest overacheiver in this business. I saw nothing in him and still don't.
2. Rob Van Dam - WWE-wise, I alway felt he was way overrated. I LOVED his work in ECW, but onc ehe arrived in the WWF/E I felt his matches were basically the same, save a few exceptions. In ECW he was innovative, fresh, and exciting. In the WWE he was repeatitive and boring. His overselling didn't help much either.
3. Chris Jericho - While I enjoyed his books and think he sound slike a great guy, I have always found him very boring. The fact his WM 18 match against HHH is overshadowed by Rock vs. Hogan should say something about his main event status.
Underrated
1. Goldust - One of my favorites and I feel he was cut short of some great feuds that WWE/F failed to give proper time to. vs Undertaker, Mankind, etc. In the mid-1990's his gimmick was cutting-edge and I think he should have been in the main event picture by the end of 1996.
2. Rick Rude - Maybe it was because his WWF run was cut short in 1990, but I think Rude was destined for a main event spot in the early 1990s. He had the look, the mic skills, and in-ring tools to really make it as a solid WWF Champion.
3. Arn Anderson - I think had he been given a solid singles push with Bobby Heenan as his manager, Arn's skills would have shined.

Yeah, I remember a lot of people being sour on the tag match at Unforgiven.

IMO the whole horseman stable aside from Flair is underrated. Honestly I feel like they all could have had Flairs spot with Barry Windham being the closest.

I agree about Arn. The guy was simply great in the ring yet is underrated for some reason. I'd even be willing to argue that Arn was better than Flair in the ring(Flair was good but I do believe that his in-ring work is overrated). Flair had more charisma and the better character so he was always going to be "The Man" while Arn was stuck as the #2 guy, but Arn easily could have been a world champ had he been given the chance.

I would agree 100% with this statement.it was Flairs charisma that put him ahead of so many,Arn included

I don't think I have ever cared enough about Tommy Dreamer to put him in either category. Not to say I didn't enjoy his stuff with Raven and his stuff with Christian in WWECW was entertaining imo, but I didn't realize people rated him that highly to justify calling him over rated. Just wondering.

Just wondering. Now, I'm a fan of Tommy Dreamer, but the wrestling industry itself seems to put Tommy on a little pedastal so to speak and act like he was the best guy from ECW when he wasn't. As for fans, it's the same thing, atleast from some I know.
