No disrespect to Sting...but...
He kinda contradicts himself in that video. He says Rock did the whole "it doesn't matter what your name is" line to Booker T and it buried him. I disagree. He dropped the same line on Jericho during his debut and it certainly didn't bury him. Booker T ended up accomplishing nothing but great things in the WWE. Sure it didn't happen right away...but it didn't for Jericho either. It wasn't a burial. I doubt the crowd would've accepted Booker T & Jericho coming in from WCW and dominating the main event scene so easily. Hell, they even fed Big Show a loss to Stone Cold in his first WWF match on Raw.
I don't know why Sting is afraid of going to WWE. Why would you NOT want to compete at Wrestlemania? Why would you NOT want to compete in the #1 wrestling organization in the world? No disrespect to TNA but if he felt that he wasn't going to be used properly then why the hell did he go there?
Last year when there were rumors of him going to WWE and he ended up staying in TNA he must have instantly regretted it when he had a 2 minute PPV main-event match with a completely cracked out Jeff Hardy. That never would've happened in WWE. You wanna talk about embarrassment?!? THAT was an embarrassment.
End of rant.

Sting has always had full creative control over his character in TNA, and lots of other control to go with it. You mad. Vince McMahon buried ECW and WCW talent during the Invasion. He didn't have Nash, Steiner, Sting, and guys like Booker T and DDP were made to look like mid carders. The Invasion angle was created to put over WWE talent, end of story. The only thing Sting wrestling at WrestleMania proves is that Vince is the all controlling power in professional wrestling. I personally think it will be awesome when Sting gets inducted into the WWE HOF as one of the biggest stars of all time, never having needed Vince McMahon.

...no...I'm not mad.
Jericho did hit main event status in 2001. He debuted in late 1999. I'd say to go from debut to main event in a year and a half is pretty darn good.
In regards to Sting...creative control or not one of the biggest embarassments of his career is that train wreck of a main event title match last year with a cracked out Jeff Hardy. According to Sting, the entire reason why he hasn't gone to WWE is because he feels he wouldn't be used properly. How could you be used any worse than having a two minute garbage main event PPV match with a completely stoned Jeff Hardy? That never would've happened in WWE.
Vince does have a lot of pull in the pro wrestling world. Mainly because the WWE is professional and they send guys home instead of letting them wrestle stoned thus embarrassing the rest of the roster and the entire company. Why do you think so many people go back to WWE? Booker T, Mick Foley, Christian, etc.

Why do you think so many people go back to WWE? Booker T, Mick Foley, Christian, etc. I just think it was embarrassing for Jeff Hardy. It was more embarrassing for TNA as a company than it was for Sting. I mean from Sting's point of view I'm sure it hurt but nobody looked at Sting negatively for the whole thing. That being said, there is also a lot of pride in being the other guy. Sting is a key in trying to put TNA on the map. Say what you want about TNA, those guys are working as hard as they can to be a great wrestling promotion. Additionally, and I don't know how much clearer this has to get, Sting doesn't need WWE. His legacy is set, he has all the money he needs, and there is nothing WWE has to offer that Sting doesn't already have, sans maybe the HOF and a DVD set. What, you want Sting to make an appearance at WrestleMania to come in at 50 years old and lose to Undertaker? No thanks. He doesn't deserve that imo. I just don't see what is to gain from Sting coming to WWE at this point. Maybe in 2001ish, but then you still have to question how he would have been used. I think Sting being worried he would only be brought in to enhance WWE talent is really valid.

It's getting to the point where a whole generation of fans have passed him by and have no idea who he is or what he's accomplished. In a business like this, you have GOT to keep your name out there. Wrestling for TNA just doesn't do that.
He could have had 10 more years of absolutely amazing matches under his belt if he had came to the 'E years ago either during or after the invasion. He claims all these reasons he wouldn't sign with them... like the Booker T/Rock example. But on the other hand, look at the reaction Hogan got in '02. He was still so over that they had to take him OUT of the NWO, turn him face and give him the world title. Also, I'm all for people becoming born again Christians. It's good to have people like that in that business especially. But nowadays, TNA is doing the exact same stuff the 'E was doing when he made those comments. So I don't get that reason either.
He also says he feels loyalty to the Jarretts for giving him his first big break. Well, sometimes loyalty will only get you so far. Being loyal got him an absolute train wreck of a match with a drugged up Jeff Hardy.

Sting is by far the most famous wrestler never to work for Vince, and I think he wants to keep it that way.

Couldnt WWE just release DVD anyway seeings that they own all the footage? Or does Sting own his name and thats the thing preventing a DVD?

they could.they could release it without his involvement and send Sting a royalties cheque.they own the footage but Sting would still have to be paid if I understand that correctly.thats what happened with Savage but apparently Vince wont do this with Sting.

Sting. It's the only real answer I can come up with. He is the only mega-star of his generation not to compete in WWE.
