I was watching old WCW tapes from the 90s and man Steiner was pretty damn entertaing in the ring back then. If it wasnt for Rick being around I could have easily seen him having a title run before his late WCW runs. So after seeing a some of his early stuff and having already seen his later WCW stuff I think Steiner is EXTREAMLY underrated. Yes his WWE and TNA runs are pretty lackluster and making him look like poop but everything before that is just gold. Any body agree with me that he's the most underrated of all time?

He is definitely underrated.
I'm still amazed by his backflip fallaway slam.

yes Steiner is underrated IMO.
has everyone seen Steiner vs Goldberg @ Fall Brawl 2000?both mens feats of strength and agility here amze me.plus its a hard hitter.
Steiner was a shadow of himself by the time he turned up in WWE in 2002.he had drop foot and it eliminated 70-80% of his moveset.such a shame he could really have contributed otherwise.

I always enjoyed Steiner in the ring. I never cared for Rick though. Scott always seemed to have the talent.

Scott had "the look" but I still think Rick was miles better in the ring then he was.

Both Steiners are easily in the top 10 in ring ability wise. Scott a little better than Rick. I think hart family members aside Steiner is very possibly the best after Savage and Dynamite Kid.

Wasn't there talk of Scott Steiner getting a World Title run back in 1991, but Flair pulled the rug out from underneath it??

Early 90s Steiner was great, he was probably my favorite wrestler back then, his moveset was like nothing we were seeing regularly in the US back then. Loved him

Flair even states that he never heard of it, and Flair was working a program with Luger then anyhow, and Rick was working Mike Rotunda over the whole Varsity Club angle.

Wow I gotta say i'm suprised not one negative comment yet. I made this thread completely expecting people who only know Steiner from his WWE and TNA runs to come in and Bash me for this. I just love Steiner, and while Rick was always good in the ring too I'd say Scott was Miles ahead. He was one of the most creative wrestlers in the early 90s. The backflip fallaway, the Steiner Screwdriver and dragon suplex were all pretty innovative moves for their time in my opinion

I loved Steiner as part of the team. After they broke up, he was like a completely different wrestler.

Always was a big fan of Steiner throughout the 90's. The guy was simply gold from 91-2001. The guy was definatly underrated.

He would have been gold during his WWE IMO had he not been fed to HHH like everyone else was at that time. I mean listen to the pop he got at SS 02. The fans were behind him but HHH buried him in less then 4 months.

People blame Steiner for their Royal Rumble 2003 disaster but I think Triple H deserves just as much fault as Steiner. In fact, I'd say Triple H deserves more fault because as the hell and champion it's his job to control the match.

Vince, his VILE daughter and HHH all knew that Steiner had drop foot and was incapable of wrestling a long match AND that this condoition eliminated 80% of Steiners move set......yet he was still booked in a lengthy match and because of the HHH ego trip that dominated wrestling from 2002 onwards they went on last. surely Vince knew Angle vs Benoit was gonna blow the f*ckin doors off RR03?and this had NO shot of following it??INSANITY. also HHH was NOT the same guy that he was from 99-2001.....not even close.when he came back in 2002 he was carrying too much muscle weight and was lagging himself....

Agreed 100%. It takes two to tango, and Hunter was crap in the match as well. Everybody knows that Steiner had a bad foot, but instead of booking them in quick 5-10 minute matches, they were booked in a 30 minute match that neither guy could do at the time. It gets annoying when people constantly blame Steiner for their bad matches when Hunter was lagging himself. I remember being so pumped when he debuted, and couldn't believe that they had Hunter bury him in a mere few months. To this day, Hunter has not been the same in the ring since he returned in 2002. From 2002-2003, the guy could barely move and unless he was in the ring w/ somebody that could carry him, his matches were crap. The guy was okay in the ring, but a far cry from his old self and overrated. Just look at how The Rock was able to put on a good match w/ Hogan at WM18, but less than a month later Hunter stunk the place up w/ Hogan.
