Anybody remember the old days of Demolition when they wrestled and the commentators were all like "its hard to tell these guys apart" and "whos this? Ax or Smash? they look identical" and you were watching and even at the young age of 6 (that was at the time) you were like WTF? there easy to tell apart, ones got short hair, the others got long hair, they have different facepaint and one of them is wearing a knee brace!

Yeah I always found that odd too. Especially cause Smash had the elbow pad on his bicep and like 6 knee braces on.

yeah I remember this too.it was mostly when they were heels before they beat Strike Force and then for a while after.when they faced the Harts at SSlam 88 I dont recall it being mentioned but it very well could have been.

yeah,i remember that too...used to bug the hell out of me....
but you're right,by late '88 it was over with....maybe they were going to try to do something with them where they would interchange during the matches, and the ref wasn't suppossed to be able to tell the difference between them, ala The Killer Bees with the masks on...of course, that would've epically failed since the yeach ahd unique facepaint...

God, the Two out of Three Falls match at SummerSlam. Ax runs down, hides under the ring and then swaps with Smash and gets in the match. So stupid. They were so different looking, body wise, head and even face paint.

I can understand it a little bit with the original Smash but not when Barry became Smash.

there was someone other then Barry as smash? Randy Colley from the Moondogs was the one of the creators of Demolition along with Eadie, but his contract was ended after only a few matches - which is where Darsow came in.

They were still doing it after 88, they were doing it at Summerslam 90 when they wrestled the Hart Foundation, as stated by Nivro, I think this was also the debut of Crush, who was taller than Ax and Smash, either was though Demolition are one of my favorite Tag Teams ever!
