I remember seeing an ad showing Bret Hart and I think Diesel Tonka wrestling buddies, does anyone have any other info on this? Pictures, etc?

WOW, never seen these before. I for one love the buddies and have quite a few in boxes in my storage closet, kinda wish they would of been produced.

thanks for the pic Stom. I was assuming that Diesel and Hart would have been along quite a few years after WWF produced the originals. Maybe these were a second wave that they thought of producing as I don't remember Diesel being around when they made Hogan, LOD, M$M, Warrior buddies.

yeah, those look to be a slightly different shape than the older ones and would have had to have been a bit more recent. they also just look way better.

Oh man, those Wrestling Buddies looked real good. I agree micco. The facial detail looks a lot more realistic (take that word for what its worth) than previous series (Hogan, Warrior, Savage, etc.).
I'd have picked them up if I saw them. Too bad they were scrapped.

Maybe these were a second wave that they thought of producing as I don't remember Diesel being around when they made Hogan, LOD, M$M, Warrior buddies. Wave 1 was Hogan, Macho King Randy Savage, Ted DiBiase, & Ultimate Warrior. Cases were packed Hogan/Warrior heavy. Ran into Got released around Christmas 1990. Wave 2 was Hogan, Warrior, Jake Roberts, and Macho King. Again, Hogan/Warrior heavy. This was the early 1991 assortment. Wave 3 was Hogan, Warrior, LOD Hawk, and LOD Animal. Hogan/Warrior heavy. The Christmas 1991 wave. Wave 4 was just Hogan & Warrior, for Spring 1992, and re-released into Christmas 1992 until it was basicly done to death. the Bret/Diesel ones were supposed to be made for Christmas 1993, but ended up never getting made. If I remember correctly, there was also a Lex Luger prototype floating around, but I could be mistaken there.

Thanks for the info HLM....it still surprises me to see the Diesel one. I believe it was late 2003 that Diesel made his debut, so WWE must have had high hopes for him if they had a Buddy designed already.

I know that the series was: WWF Tonka Wrestling Bubbies series 1- Hogan Warrior Million $ Man Macho King group shot carded figure The 1st series was only wrestlers with a belt on there body. 2nd Series was- LOD Jake the Snake others? I know that WCW had some(not the talking ones from the late 90's but from the early 90's)- Luger Sting etc... and these Justoys Buddies nash & Hart The Jakks wrestling buddies were sad as hell. I was not a fan of them at all. With a plastic head that would hurt a kid if he/she were to slam on it. They should have been recalled.
