According to an article on NoDq.com, WWE Classics on Demand will be discontinued on January 1st, 2012. I'm quite shocked and sad really. But with the advent of WWE Network coming April 1st, 2012, I guess this was gonna happen.

That is stupid!! What if some cable distributors don't pick up the WWE Network?? I think WWE should have just kept WWE On Demand and not even try for a WWE Network. I just have a feeling that it is going to fail for some reason.

Damn the Monday Night Wars were just getting to the good stuff, we didn't even see Kane & Taker team up yet. But I did love ending of the 8/3/98 installment. So long WWE Classics I will miss you dearly.

I'm so angry that WWE Classics on Demand is being discontinued. I have been subscribed to this channel for the past 7 years with my cable company. This channel is just amazing to have. I really do hope that this new WWE Network that is coming in 2012 will be as good as Classics on Demand.
I'm so looking forward to that Legend's House that will be on the new WWE Network. Hopefully I will not get my hopes up for disappointment.

Hopefully I will not get my hopes up for disappointment. Problem is that the new channel will be very current product centric because they'll want to promote what they are doing now, not 10, 15, 20, or 25+ years ago. Just noticed that they changed the old WWECLASSICS.COM, to this: www.wwe.com/wwegreatestmatches. Looks like they don't have all of the classic full shows they used to have... --edit, well, looks like some of them are still there, they just aren't listed, you really have to hunt for them... In any event, if the WWE Classics on Demand does indeed go away, I'll probably be subsribing to the web service. Won't be able to burn stuff to dvd as easily (or maybe at all, depending on how they are). Major bummer.

I wasn't able to subscribe until this past February (never was a distributor that offered it until UVerse came to town) and I've been completely enjoying it for the past 10 months. Sad to see it go, even if my cable bill just got $7 cheaper because of it.
My favorite are the 80s Mid-Atlantic and TBS NWA episodes, and of course, Tuesday Night Titans (which was just getting to the pre-WrestleMania I hype episodes... would have LOVED to follow this for the next few months, but oh well).

Are we sure it is discontinued on January 1st, though? Just watched one of the "Just in" and it had all kinds of advertising for January's features. I haven't gotten any confirmation in the mail from Cox, either.

I haven't gotten any confirmation in the mail from Cox, either. I got a postcard in the mail last week from AT&T U-Verse (my cable provider) telling me that WWE Classics on Demand would not be offered beyond 12/31 due to WWE discontinuing the channel. It said the charge for WWE Classics would not appear on my bill anymore starting next month. But in watching the last few December shows I've also seen numerous "Coming in January" spots promoting a theme of "rebels" with Piper, Austin, etc. coming in January. I'm assuming they just didn't decide to pull the plug this month until the next set of promos had launched (or else the people that program the service hadn't been informed yet... which happens a lot in companies where the top few executives make all the decisions.)

I don't think the service is dying at all. I think dirtsheets are misconstruing the info and probably certain providers discontinuing it.
I live in Canada and have it on Rogers Cable, i called the rep and he said there is no expiry date on WWE Classics shutting down and if it were to discontinue, customers would have been notified. As of now haven't received anything.
I doubt it's getting canceled on January 1. If any channel is getting discontinued providers give sufficient notice. If we haven't heard from WWE themselves, nothing is happening...it will continue to run as normal until they confirm.
If you go on WWE.com they are already advertising next months theme. Last i heard it will be active til March 31.

I too live in Canada and have WWE Classics on Demand on Cogeco Cable, and I saw that a bunch of new wrestling shows are on it, and they say they are on until January 15th. So I know we have it until January 15th at least!
