Do you think scott should have held the world title more than once in WCW? i loved Big poppa pump and would have rather seen him as world champ instead of Jarrett.

he was fairly injury prone, but it would've been nice to see. he was quite a bit more over the top than most characters for the slightly tamer wcw by 99 or so.

I personally loved Steiner's character, especially from 98-01. The problem though is that he was a lose cannon and did those unscripted promos that, while entertaining, did more harm to the company than good. He was injury prone, but he was a credible world champ and his 5 month reign was entertaining to me. Jarrett was fine as champ too, but Steiner was better. Him and Booker should have won world titles back in 1998 or 1999 when WCW still had a chance to build new characters.

I liked a lot of Steiner's stuff towards the end of WCW, he was pretty entertaining.

Steiner was cool, but I would never put him before Jarrett.

Steiner was cool, but I would never put him before Jarrett. I never liked Jarrett, he made a fine US champion but it annoyed me when He was put in the world title match at Spring Stamped and Steiner was in the US title match

I enjoyed him immensely in WcW but probably for all the wrong reasons, as he was a such a loose cannon.
It would have been cool to see him as a multi-time world champ though.

I loved Steiner when I was little and when I was watching WCW in 2000-2001 I remember being so fascinated by how much of a monster he had become and I bought him as a legitimate heel (but then again I am 11).
Honestly as a kid I was buying into Book at the time. But I do miss those days of Steiner for sure.
But was this one of the outburst? I dont remember this:

I dont remember this: Back in the day most fans bought Booker T and Steiner as legit guys. It wasn't until Vince got ahold of them that he turned them into jokes.

Pre-steroids Steiner was one of the most entertaining wrestlers of his time. His early 90s tag team and single stuff was awsome. But as far as character go, his Big Poppa Pump persona was by far his best, and still one of my all time favorite characters. The guy may have been a lose cannon and done some unscripted promos, but he cares about the business. Just look at the final Nitro. He could have refused to put Booker over and held onto the world title and basically forced Vince to buy out his contract to come work for the WWF. Instead, he agreed to drop the title w/ Booker. The last few years as well he has been working to help younger guys in TNA get over. The guy was a legit psycho at one point, but he has definatly mellowed out alot and has become a more respected worker IMO.

Do you think scott should have held the world title more than once in WCW? i loved Big poppa pump and would have rather seen him as world champ instead of Jarrett. Had he been the pre-juice Steiner, yes. The Sultan of Syringe, however, wasn't nearly as athletic between the ropes. His frame seemed to have trouble carrying that mass. Plus, I remember reading several reports about Steiner having ongoing back problems in the late 90s.

I mean his moveset turned into nothing but suplex's and the Steiner Recliner.
