Were there any really interesting angles that were phased out or was it over before it was over so to speak. I wasnt a huge fan of wcw at the time.

Flair and his "Magnificent 7" were the main heel group and in the process of killing the crap out of all the babyfaces.
the group contained
Scott Steiner-World Champion
Jeff Jarrett
Rick Steiner
Animal
and a few others......according to many there was a plan.Goldberg vs Steiner was to be the main feud.
if they produced another awesome smash mouth affair like Fall Brawl 200o it would have rocked.........although I doubt nything of the sort would have happened.
Animal has some pretty far out notions of what they were gonna do......check out his solo shoot

I have no clue. I was never a big WCW fan. Were they still doing that New Breed crap? New Blood. New Breed was the group of the ECW brand led by Elijah Burke. That storyline was done though, by the time Vince declared victory. Not so much a storyline, but one thing, that was killed once Vince bought the company, was the Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles. WCW creating those titles to begin with was pointless from the beginning, and plus the belts were just plain ugly. |

It was pretty much understood by the start of February that the final Nitro would be the last Nitro at least for a while. If Bischoff and his investors were able to buy the company and continue to run it how it was, they were planning on taking several weeks off, then return with a Pay Per View that basically clean slated WCW. This got far enough along that a poster was made and publicly released.  For the final few weeks of Nitro and Thunder, not a whole lot was happening. They were basically just filling time until the "current deal" was done. Building into the spring break finale, there was an angle between Bam Bam Bigalow and Shawn Stasiak w/ Stacy Keibler. The blow off match happened at the final Nitro, where the loser would have to receive a tattoo. If Bam Bam won, Stacy had to get a tattoo. I think Stasiak won, but there was never any pay off at all to that. The Cruiserweight Tag Team titles had been built for most of 2001, from late January until the final Nitro, through the tournament, then the one defense of the titles on the final Nitro, subsequently the only change of the titles. Surely if Bischoff and company were able to continue to run WCW with the Big Bang and beyond, these would have become a fairly significant part of the company with Three Count, The Jung Dragons, Noble & Karagsis, AJ Styles & Air Paris, Rey & Kidman, and other teams. It seemed like in late 2000 and 2001, Cruiserweight tag team wrestling had become the focus of the undercard over even standard cruiserweight wrestling. Nothing at all was really built though, because they were planning on wiping the slate clean and starting fresh, and had about 2 months to tie up loose ends, as best as WCW knew how to do, before the vacation and relaunch |

Remember Stacy Keibler as Miss Hancock?  That's what made WCW kinda sorta almost worth watching. Were they still doing that thing where Booker T, Hugh Morris, Chavo Guerrero and Tylene Buck were soldiers or something? I remember Booker T was G.I. Bro Hugh Morris was General Rection Chavo Guerrero was Lt. Loco Tylene Buck was Major Gunns That wasn't still going on right? Booker T was champion but he wasn't still in that stable was he? |

Steiner as world champ was entertaining. While his matches were mostly bad(he had to work w/ Nash and Sid alot and the bad booking by WCW), he was an entertaining heel champ and fans bought into him as being on the level of the WWF top guys. Booker was also having a good 2000 for the most part(besides never getting a decent run w/ the world title), and its a shame he returned too late in 2001, because I would have loved to have seen him and Steiner continue their feud.
I actually liked the Steiner-Booker feud that was going on at the time. Their matches at Mayhem and the final Nitro wern't that bad and they worked well together when given the chance. I wish that their feud could have played out more instead of the quick, final Nitro match we got where Booker was given the title simply because he was signed by Vince and Steiner wasn't. They both had very similar rises to the top, w/ both starting in great tag teams, then spending quite a few years in the midcard, and finally both winning world titles. 90% of their matches together didn't disapoint.

How Hogan was able to spot The Wall on top of a sky scraper when he was on the ground I'll never know lol.

The end of WCW was pretty horrific for the most part IMO, shame when they had guys like Lance Storm etc, but as said I guess a lot of it was just waiting for Bischoff's deal to push through.
Had never seen that poster before, interesting. Imagine what would have happened...

cruiserweight tag team wrestling was hugely popular, bischoff was huge on it and thought of it as where wrestling needed to go. it was opted over even normal cruiserweight wrestling
