Despite rumors to the contrary, the cryptic promos airing for January 2012 are meant for Chris Jericho as of this writing.
News came out last week that talks fell through between WWE and Jericho but they are still ongoing as of right now. Also, Jericho recently said he would never wrestle for WWE again and when asked what he would be doing in January, he responded "Working in Hawaii". That's likely a cover-up.
Word is that the deal between WWE and Jericho is not done yet but Vince McMahon wanted to get it out there now. Obviously Vince McMahon feels a deal will be made. WWE officials want Jericho on the RAW brand to help boost ratings.

I was hoping Jericho would be in Philadelphia on January 2. Then I remembered that the Winter Classic Alumni Game, in which his dad might be playing, is actually December 31.

Because it's smart business to start promoting a guy you haven't signed yet. WWE officials want Jericho on the RAW brand to help boost ratings. Because Jericho is such a ratings magnet. And because the ratings have been oh so terrible lately. |

Yea not signing someone & promoting them is very TNA-like (IE Nash & Booked T). I think they are a little smarter than that

That is great news.
I though it was going to be another lackluster return package for Taker but if it means Jericho is coming back I am really happy.
I could see Jericho v Punk at WM 28 for the WWE title.
Would be a great match imo.

however i hope Jericho is coming back, the WWE is severly lacking Jericho.
