Why Did WWF Make Us Long Wait For New King until King of ring 93? why didn't have wwf start new a tournament after Wrestlemania 7 to a crown new king of wwf?

Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here...
Didn't Jerry "The King" Lawler sue WWF back around that time period for their use of "The King" gimmick?
Maybe that had something to do with it...not sure really.

I think you are correct about Lawler suing the WWE, but I thought it was years even before that. Like if the WWE came to Memphis, I thought Harley Race and Haku couldn't go by "King" in their name. I could be wrong about that though, but I thought it was way before 1991 where Lawler sued or tried to sue the WWE.

in that respect,ironically enough, Lawler joined the WWF in 1993...same year the King of the Ring PPV started...coincidence?

Hmm hadnt thought of that.I seen Kings shoot years ago but Im damned If I can remember any of it.....  I did hear about lawler challenging Vince over the "King thing"...... in respect to Vince waiting 2 years to crown a new one.....I just think he was done with it after Savage.
