Also could someone write a list of the rarist hasbro's Other than a prototype figure, I don't know if any R&B Valentine's exist. The figure was never released, so I suppose if someone owns the prototype, than it would be worth a good chunk of change. As for other rarities, there are plenty such as the Yellow boots Dusty, Kamala w/moon belly, Mailaway Bret, Hogan and Taker, Rude in lighter pinkish-purple shade tights, etc.

clearly a custom...but a good one at that...the actual prototype features a molded jacket and no shinguard.

Yeah, that looks like a modded Razor upper with the Valentine head and legs. A nice job, but a custom. the real deal apparently never made it into production.
I have always heard that Valentine had one of the proto figures and sold it to person unkown many years ago. Valentine has sold off pretty much every piece of memorobilia from his career at some point (very common to find people with his old robes, trunks, boots, title belts, ect), so that story is pretty likely.
BTW, if they wanted a more realistic version of the prototype, they should've used Doink's lower body. That was the one that was supposed to be used on the R&B Valentine. Hammer had stopped using the shin guard by the time he started teaming with HTM as Rhythm and Blues.

The rarist of the regular Hasbro figures (excluding variants and mail-in premiums) are the Green Carded figures and Dusty Rhodes

My friend that worked a good amount of shows after he left Titan with him said he sold it at an autograph signing for $50 to $150.00, and said "that will buy me a nice steak diner". Don't know how true it is, but he probably didn't think if would have been worth much at the time.

I went to see Valentine at the memorabilia convention in Birmingham, UK a few years ago and even though he had left early, his 'people' said he had been given 3 of the figures to approve. he had sold one, his son had one and he still had the other. I asked if it was for sale and they said yes, for a $1,000. They took my number and I am still waiting to hear back from them!!
Incidentally, Hacksaw was there too and said he was glad Greg had gone as they haven't spoken for years!

lucky for you.. we went to see him at a comic con and he did a no show all 3 days.. I was pissed. After that I was not a big fan of him anymore.. I paid $20 to get into the show.. just to see him. the 2 Years pasted, I meet RVD and them Hacksaw.. Great guys with some great stories. I figured why not see Greg and talk with him and get his figure signed. What an ass. I'm sorry but that's just the way I feel about him burning his fans.

Welcome meatybat! There was at least one plastic prototype made, as seen in Hasbro catalog pics and in the TRU ad. Whether Greg sold it or not remains to be seen. Stomwijf has a resin Valentine, but the whereabouts of the plastic prototype(s) are still a mystery. Sabotage, if it's been a few years, chances are you won't be hearing back from them.

Yep,I lost the hope of a call-back after a week. Valentine is apparently quite the arse! On the other hand: Valentine meets hundreds of people and a number is easily lost or maybe you forgot to mention your country number and he's getting a wrong beep or so.

I've talked to Mr. Valentine on a few occasions and he says it's sitting on his shelf at home. We snickered when I offered him a price and told me to talk to him in a few years. This was in 2004, so who knows if he has parted with it since.

/\ Just have to say I love that Gonzalas and Whippleman As for Valentine, it would have been great to see the R&B one released. Wonder where it is now. I'm also sorry to hear that he's been an ass, like if people didnt support him he wouldnt have been a star.
