SCWA Mayhem In Manhattan
29/08/09 – Manhattan, New York

-- Pre Show Notes --
- Early attendance announcement estimated 1,750 people in the arena tonight. That’s a record attendance for the SCWA for what is being called their biggest ever show.
- Duan Sanchez Snr. and Dave Prazak once again on commentary for the show. Looks like they’ll be the regular team.

-- Main Show --

1) Duan Sanchez Jnr. Defeated Devin Curtis in 9:05 with the Second Generation Moonsault. There was a surprising amount of support for Sanchez Jnr. here in Manhattan. The SCWA seem to be doing a good job of trying to build him back up as a featured star and a win here definitely didn’t hurt that. Devin Curtis is one of those guys who are always exciting and who just need the right kind of push to get over. Unfortunately that wasn’t going to happen tonight and Sanchez picked up the win with the Second Generation Moonsault. Solid opening for a show that’s been hyped up for weeks. ***

-- As soon as the bell rung Mike Bockwinkel appears out of nowhere and attacks Sanchez from behind. The crowd are booing like crazy as Bockwinkel puts the boots into Sanchez before picking him up in order to hit the Bockwinkel Special. Massive heat for Bockwinkel as he stands over the man who bested him last night. --

2) LyNN & Matt Dangerous Defeated The Red Assassins in 07:53 when LyNN used the Springboard DDT on Red Dragon. The SCWA have been looking for some new tag teams to take the reins in the division and it looks like LyNN & Matt Dangerous could be one of the main heel teams. The focus on their team is their brawling ability and their willingness to get brutal in order to win. The Red Assassins always put on a great performance and this was no difference as they matched LyNN & Dangerous every step of the way. In the end a suicidal backdrop from the apron to the outside by Dangerous to Assassin left LyNN to hit the Springboard DDT on Dragon for the victory. **1/2

-- We head to the big screen over the stage and visit SCWA’s backstage interviewer Keri Thames as she stands by with Sam Kineval. Thames asks for Kineval’s thoughts on his match with Bryan Danielson tonight. Kineval says that Bryan Danielson calls himself the best in the world and that Kineval didn’t care because everybody knew it wasn’t true. But then Danielson showed up here in the SCWA. Kineval calls it an insult that Danielson thought he could just show up and take his spotlight and his camera time! He promises to show Danielson exactly who runs the roost in this place and it doesn’t matter how he has to do it because after tonight everybody will be calling him the best in the world! --

3) Paul London Defeated Harry Carraway in 11:18 with the Shooting Star Press. A lot of anticipation for Paul London’s debut as he becomes only the second ‘outsider’ to step foot in an SCWA ring. They couldn’t have picked a better opponent if they’d tried either. Carraway’s a brawler sure, but this guy can adjust and wrestle just about any style he is set against. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him in the main event sometime this year. London and Carraway worked an excellent back and forth match that let London show off all of his signature spots while never making Carraway look weak. If anything he looked like he was going to take the victory for a lot of the match before London came back with a burst of offence, topped off by a spectacular looking Shooting Star Press for the victory. Big pop for the finish. ***1/4

4) Kevin Shamrock Defeated Daniel Sinn in 15:36 with the Whiskey Slumber 2.0. This match stems from Daniel Sinn stepping up against Kevin Shamrock following his heel turn and vicious assault on Dragon. There was the obvious feeling here that Sinn was going to be outmatched by the much more experienced Kevin Shamrock and while that was definitely the case for the opening five or so minutes after that Sinn just seemed to explode out of nowhere and really take the fight to Shamrock. Crowd were really into hating Shamrock because he legitimately seems like a bad ass and it genuinely looked like he was trying to hurt Sinn. Great action as these two work very similar styles and the match flowed from one spot to the next with barely any down time. Even the slow moments had the psychology behind it to keep the fans hooked. Big pop when Sinn went for the Original Sinn but Shamrock countered and locked in the Whiskey Slumber 2.0. Sinn held on for near half a minute but eventually tapped, giving Shamrock the victory but the fans respect to Sinn. ***1/2

- Return date for Manhattan announced for January 2010.
- Positive reactions to the first half of the show. A lot of talk about the Sinn/ Shamrock match in particular. Fans are pumped for the second half.

-- Second half of the show starts up with the big screen showing the announce table. Joining Duan Sanchez Snr. and Dave Prazak is Kevin Hart which must mean the SCWA International Championship match is up next. Sanchez asks Hart for his thoughts on the bout and he says that he’ll be pulling for Ace Bennett next because he wants to take the title in his hometown in three days. A lot of hype regarding the SCWA’s upcoming five date Canadian tour. --

5 – SCWA International Championship Match) Ace Bennett [C] Defeated Jordan Devine in 12:50 with the Syracuse Drop. With a lot of hype for the Canadian tour and in particular Ace Bennett’s title defence against Kevin Hart on the first date this match was primarily about showcasing the champion. Jordan Devine provided the perfect opponent to do so as he really knows how to work a match. Devine took control early on and the rest of the match was about Bennett’s comeback. A few moments where he got distracted by Kevin Hart at ringside to further their feud but Hart stayed at the announce table for the entire match. Devine hit the Moon Over Miami late into the match but only got a 2.5 count and within two minutes was the victim of the Syracuse Drop as Bennett took the win. Fifth Defence. ***

-- Back up to the big screen where Keri Thames is standing by with The Three Kings to get their thoughts on the six man elimination street fight. Tyler Moxley takes centre stage and talks about how Daz, Trace Demon and Jason Star have picked a fight that they can’t finish. He says that The Three Kings are a unit and that they work together but Daz is psychotic and Demon & Star are the biggest mismatched team in the SCWA. C.G. Gordo says that they didn’t pick this type of match, that was Daz’s doing, which means it is all on him when the SCWA loses three of its wrestlers to crippling injuries. Paul Patton complains that somebody of his standing shouldn’t be in such a barbaric match but that if he has to be then he has no problems with disfiguring his opponents. Solid segment to build up the six man street fight. --

6) Sam Kineval Defeated Bryan Danielson in 19:44 with the Chaos Death Shot. These two have had problems for the past two months so there was a lot of heated build up for this one. There were some high expectations but these two men topped it all with the match of the night so far and I don’t see anything topping it. Lots of technical holds and mat wrestling early on to showcase how evenly matched these men are. Danielson’s experience edge seemed to be countered by Kineval’s willingness to resort to dirty tricks when he got the opportunity. It became obvious during this match that this audience are full of real wrestling fans because just like in Sinn/ Shamrock they were still reacting to everything, including rest holds. As the match reached halfway these two started bringing out the big moves and it seemed to be about whether Kineval had what it takes to go the distance especially when Danielson’s submissions came into play. Things looked over when Danielson locked in the Cattle Mutilation but just before Kineval tapped the referee was pulled out of the ring by Sam’s younger brother, Lee Kineval! As the referee argued with Lee Danielson slid out of the ring and knocked the younger Kineval brother out with an elbow. As he slid back in he was caught off guard by a sudden Chaos Death Shot, Sam Kineval getting the pinfall and the victory thanks to his brothers interference. Insane amount of heat for the finish. This one isn’t over. ****1/4

7 – SCWA World Championship Match) Chaz Classic [C] vs. Chris Hammers went to a double count out at 17:32. There was a little bit of surprise that this one didn’t go on last but by the finish it was obvious why. This one had less of a big championship match feel and more the atmosphere of two men who needed to take this chance to prove themselves. Hammers started things off in the SCWA in a bit of a rut which he’s turned around by turning on the fans while Chaz Classic has been the top dog since day one but it was obvious that Hammers has been built as his biggest challenge yet. For those expecting some kind of beautiful technical bout between these two then you’d b sorely mistaken as this was as hard hitting and brutal as a technical contest could possibly be. Every submission attempt looked like it could genuinely cripple a person while some of the suplex’s could only be described as looking like a car crash on impact. The match descended into chaos towards the end with these men fighting it out outside of the ring. The referee didn’t start his count for a good half a minute because of the title being on the line but he had no choice when these two took it into the crowd. They fought around the crowd and back to ringside but neither man even tried to get back into the ring before the ten count. Fans weren’t happy about the finish despite the solid match. Following the decision Classic and Hammers were separated by security. Fourth Defense ***

-- The big screen kicks up again and a video airs highlighting the brief history between the six men involved in the main event. It starts with the feud between Daz and Tyler Moxley, then switches to Moxley turning on Daz during a tag team match and allying with C.G. Gordo and Paul Patton to form The Three Kings. We then see Trace Demon and Jason Star’s inclusion into the feud which led to the announcement of our main event – a six man elimination street fight! –

8 – Six Man Elimination Street Fight) The Three Kings Defeated Daz, Trace Demon & Jason Star in 29:45 when Gordo pinned Daz following the Impaler DDT. If there was any single reason that this show was called Mayhem In Manhattan then it is because of this match. With a genuine hatred between these six men this one was as violent as they could get away with without genuinely crippling each other. Daz, Demon & Star were the obvious fan favourites in this match and I’ve never heard a more definitive face/ heel divide amongst the fans. They loved everything the faces did and despised The Three Kings. With six men involved with no rules this one was never going to stay in the ring as everybody took the fight outside the ring, around the crowd and up the stage at some point or another which meant some crazy spots, including a dive from the ramp to the floor below by Trace Demon that sent himself and C.G. Gordo through a table. Jason Star was the first to go as he became the victim of a brutal looking Moxicity onto a steel chair. The three on two numbers game gave The Three Kings a big advantage for a while before Trace Demon did a suicidal side effect like move from the top of a ladder to Patton that allowed him to drape an arm over for the pinfall to even the score. Daz however seemed to go completely psychotic at this point and brought out the spike we saw earlier this month, promptly driving it into the skull of Gordo and taking him out. He promptly turned around into Moxicity but before Moxley could make the pin Trace Demon tackled him. With their teammates out of it these two really put on a great brawl that ended with Moxley connecting with another Moxicity for the pinfall making it two on one for The Three Kings... or not, as Moxley was swiftly hit by the Dazaster Driver and eliminated from the match. Daz went after Gordo and the two put on a fine two-three minute back and forth. Daz went for the Dazaster Driver again but Gordo hit a low blow, and then broke a chair over the skull of Daz. He followed up with the Impaler DDT onto the chair to take the pinfall and the match. Fans went crazy at the finish, sure that Daz was going to take this one. Massive heel heat for Gordo to end the show as he stood amongst the carnage that was this match. ****1/2

[Red Dragon]

Great show as expected R. Biggest crowd makes sense, it is your best card so far. Duan/Devin is almost too good to kick off the show. Mike attacking post match sets up a match later down the line. Sad the Assassins lost but I see why you did it, you need to build up teams to have a tag divsion and having them go over the an established team like the Assassins. Solid Kineval promo. Don't know how well London performs these days, seems a bit sloppy but still puts over Harry well. Great match before the intermission, could have easily semi-main evented any other show. Ace winning was obvious keeping it Ace/Hart in Canada, hoping Kev wins it in his hometown. Sam going over puts him over huge, but you've been doing that a lot since you started. Lee coming into it is great and I can see AmDrag destroying Lee later on. Chaz had to win, to keep the belt. Amazing six-man tag, kinda hoping that isn't the end of 3 man team feud since it had good build and ended kinda early. Good luck and keep this up.

SCWA News: Mayham In Manhattan Reviews; SCWA stars in Canada, Roster Cuts?

- Mayhem in Manhattan is getting rave reviews both from well respected wrestling websites and the higher ups in SCWA itself. Many are calling it the best show they’ve ever done and are putting this down to having so many well built up feuds going into the show. There has been massive praise for the six men involved in the main event and current plans call for the Three Kings/ Daz, Demon & Star feud to continue for at least another month.

- In other Mayhem in Manhattan news the Manhattan crowd are being called one of the best crowds SCWA have had due to their very vocal reactions during the show. Along with the announced return in February there is already talk of doing a second Mayhem in Manhattan next year.

- Ahead of the Ace Bennett/ Kevin Hart match on the first date of their Canadian Tour the SCWA have been doing a lot of hype in Calgary for the show. Both Bennett and Hart wrestled for a recent ECCW (Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling) show, with Hart teaming with Teddy Hart to defeat Aftershock and Ace Bennett making his sixth SCWA International title defence again Scotty Mac.

- There has been some talk of trimming the excess on the SCWA roster to make way for some potential new additions earlier next year. A number of tryout dates are being planned for January and February to find some new potential talent and the opinion is that with the already large roster than any incoming talent will result is some wrestlers being let go.

SCWA In Canada

Less than a week after the biggest show in SCWA history we look to make history again with the first international show in SCWA history. But this isn’t just a onetime deal. This is the first in a five day tour for the company over two weeks as the SCWA brings its entire roster over to Canada with all the thrills, spills and high octane action you expect.

Kicking off the tour is one of the biggest matches we could ever bring to Calgary as hometown boy Kevin Hart finally gets his opportunity to dethrone the SCWA International Champion Ace Bennett. These two men have both proven themselves to be amazing competitors deserving of the title but only one can walk away as champion. As Ace Bennett walks into hostile territory he will be the ‘bad guy’ for the first time in his SCWA career while Calgary’s own Kevin Hart will look to take the gold in the one place he feels deserves to see it happen. It’s Ace Bennett vs. Kevin Hart for the SCWA International Championship and only one man can walk out with the gold!

Elsewhere Chaz Classic remains the SCWA World Champion following a double count out at Mayhem in Manhattan. But that doesn’t mean he’ll be leaving Canada as champion! During his time in Canada Classic will defend the title twice against two of Canada’s biggest home grown stars. In Ontario he will battle it out with Tyson Dux while on the final date of the tour Kevin Steen will challenge for the title in his home region of Quebec! And both of those men will be involved in Calgary as Chaz Classic will team with Kevin Steen to battle Chris Hammers and Tyson Dux. With all four of these men caught up in the World Championship scene there will be everything to fight for in Calgary.

In Manhattan Mike Bockwinkel launched a heinous attack on Duan Sanchez Jnr. While we’ve been looking to get a statement from Bockwinkel for days now we’ve had no luck but we received word earlier today that he will make that official statement in Calgary! Not only that but Bockwinkel will be in action as he takes on one of the SCWA’s brightest stars, Harry Carraway!

Good card. Really happy to see the International title on the line in the main event, you built it up well. The tag match with Dux sounds epic. Hopefully Carra puts in another good perfomance, can't see him winning though. Sad not to see either Sam or the Red Assassins in there but maybe Sam will do a promo on Dragon. The other matches look good abeit a little single match heavy. Could have thrown in a multiman to break it up. Good luck and keep this up.

- Before the show started Duan Sanchez Snr., who has been working commentary with SCWA, thanked everyone for coming out tonight. He stated that Canada is always a favourite for the wrestlers because of the fans and that the SCWA intend to bring many more shows out here soon.
- About 1000 people here in Canada. While lower than their American show attendances it is still a very good turnout for their first ever Canadian show.
- Obviously a lot of talk for tonight’s main event. Kevin Hart is the first favourite in this arena tonight.

-- MAIN SHOW –

1) Daniel Sinn Defeated Zeke Walker in 08:21 with The Original Sinn. A bit of a surprising match here because the last time we heard of Zeke was that he’d left the SCWA under a bit of a black cloud. Still he’s back and with a new gimmick too, working a bit more of a serious role than previously. Sinn is coming out of a massively impressive loss against Kevin Shamrock and wanted to pick some momentum back up here on the first date of this mini-tour. Some great back and forth action. The Canadian’s loved Sinn because obviously his trainer, Trace Demon, is a Canadian native. Nice pop when Sinn picked up the pinfall. **1/4

-- Daniel Sinn doesn’t get a chance to celebrate his victory as Kevin Shamrock slides into the ring and catches Sinn out of nowhere with a German suplex. Shamrock mounts Sinn and begins unloading with rights and lefts while the fans hurl abuse his way. Pulling a dazed Daniel Sinn to his feet Kevin Shamrock slaps him in the face before lifting him up and hitting the Whiskey Slumber 2.0. Shamrock stands over an unconscious Daniel Sinn as the referee pushes him back. Obviously things are far from over between these two men. --

2) Jason Williams Defeated X-Jack in 07:21 with the Psycho Driver. If this was anywhere else this match would have likely been a beverage break for most people but Williams is a Calgary native and he was treated like a star here tonight. The fans absolutely loved the guy and while at first he was a little surprised by the reaction he ran with it and put on his best performance yet. X-Jack is the type of guy who could be a star if pushed but he’s languishing at the bottom of the card. Big pop for the finish. **

3) Lee Kineval w/ Sam Kineval Defeated Anthony Arnott in 08:40 with the From Wales With Love. This match may have been the surprise of the night. After aligning with his older brother Sam Kineval Lee was in full protégé heel mode here tonight. Anthony Arnott is unlikely to ever be a massive star but he can always be relied upon to put on a good match, especially when they want to sell somebody’s offence. Sam Kineval drew a lot of heat at ringside, arguing with a few fans throughout the match and getting into some trouble with the referee when he tried to do some damage to Arnott on the outside. A distraction from Sam allowed Lee to hit the From Wales With Love and take the win. **1/2

-- Following the match Sam walks around to the announce desk to grab a microphone. He enters the ring and begins talking about how Lee is clearly smarter than their older brother Red Dragon because he understood who the real talent in the family is. He moves on to talking about Bryan Danielson, saying that having beat him fair and square he can officially call himself the best in the world! Kineval begins mocking Danielson when suddenly the music of the American Dragon hits the speakers and Danielson himself appears on the stage and sprints towards the ring. As Danielson slides into the ring Sam Kineval makes a quit exit, leaving Lee to go toe to toe with Danielson who just unloads with some vicious elbows. Danielson quickly locks Lee in the Cattle Mutilation, staring at Sam as he backs up the ramp. --

4) Jake Richards Defeated Eddy Valentino in 14:23 with the Dark Moon. This is only Jake Richards’ third SCWA match but he has already established himself as one of the most dominant men in the company. There was little doubt amongst the crowd who was meant to be the star here but the problem here was that Valentino is one of the most entertaining men on the roster even if he isn’t headlining shows yet. As the match continued it became obvious that Richards needs a little more experience with lengthy matches and that meant Valentino became the star for a good few minutes. In the end though this one was about Jake Richards and he took the victory with the Dark Moon. ***

- During the break Duan Sanchez Snr. Announced that the SCWA board of directors have added C.G. Gordo & Paul Patton into the Top Of The World tournament.
- Calgary return was announced for February as part of a two date return to Canada.

5) Harry Carraway Defeated Mike Bockwinkel in 15:21 with a rollup. A pretty big match to return from intermission as Bockwinkel, one of the most entertaining heels in the company, took on Harry Carraway who has been getting rave reviews ever since the very first SCWA show. The thing about Carraway is that he came in as a straight brawler but has now added a lot of technical based work to his move set which sets him apart from some of the other guys on the roster who are a little two dimensional in their ring style. These two worked a great back and forth contest, teasing out the big moves throughout but never really being able to hit that finishing move. As Bockwinkel began taking control Duan Sanchez Jnr., who was jumped by Bockwinkel last month, appeared in the entrance. The distraction was enough for Carraway to roll Bockwinkel up and steal the pinfall. Fans weren’t sure on the ending but the quality of the match made up for it. ***3/4

-- As Harry Carraway rolls out of the ring Mike Bockwinkel is furious. He begins throwing a pretty comedic tantrum in the ring before screaming at Duan Sanchez Jnr. Sanchez walks up the ramp, shouting about how Mike Bockwinkel picked the wrong guy to mess with. Looks like we could be getting a pretty entertaining feud between these two. --

6) Chaz Classic & Kevin Steen Defeated Chris Hammers & Tyson Dux in 20:45 when Classic used the Snap Brainbuster on Tyson Dux. While this would usually be a main event calibre match it was let down a little bit since everyone is waiting for Bennett/ Hart. Still these four men went out and really went at it. There wasn’t a clear favourite for the fans because both Kevin Steen and Tyson Dux are two of Canada’s top stars. There was a lot of focus on how Hammers, Steen and Dux are all after Chaz Classic’s World Championship which meant he had to watch his back at all times because he didn’t even trust his own partner. Chris Hammers was on fire throughout, just hitting suplex after suplex at one point and it’s obvious that he is still coming for the title. The final four or five minutes were filled with big signature moves and near falls as all four men got involved and the referee started losing control. Steen ended up hitting Classic with a blind right hand before hitting Hammers with the Steenalizer. Dux proceeded to throw Steen out of the ring only for Classic to hit the Snap Brainbuster for the pinfall. Classic and Steen stared each other down following the match. ****

-- We head up to the big screen where two intercut pre-recorded promos are recorded featuring SCWA International Champion Ace Bennett and tonight’s challenger Kevin Hart. Bennett talks about how Kevin Hart is the greatest challenge he has ever had to face and that he knows it isn’t going to be any easier here in Calgary. Kevin Hart talks about how Bennett is making a mockery of the International Championship and that somebody with a bit of class should hold it. Hart says that Canadian’s have more class than anybody and that it is going to be an honour taking the title from Ace here Calgary. Both men go on to talk about how holding the International Championship would be an honour and that tonight they will give everything they have to walk out of Calgary with the title. --

7 – SCWA International Championship Match) Kevin Hart Defeated Ace Bennett in 32:43 with the Sharpshooter to become the 2nd Champion. This was the match every single person in this arena has been waiting for and it didn’t disappoint. If anything this might be the single best match in SCWA’s brief history. The traditional roles were reversed here as Ace Bennett got a massive amount of heat and Kevin Hart got cheered like never before. The fans were very vocal throughout this one and there were a lot of “Let’s go Hart/ f**k you Bennett” chants going on. Things started out with some traditional technical wrestling which is very much Hart’s area of expertise. Despite that Ace kept pace even when it went to the mat and soon turned things around by speeding up the pace, allowing him to hit some of his favoured high spots. Things really got exciting when people took the fight outside as it allowed both men to show exactly how exciting they can make things in such a dangerous environment. There was a tense moment when Bennett suplexed Hart off of the ring apron to the floor and both seemed to land awkwardly but they managed to shake it off and got right back into it in the ring. As they reached the final ten minutes the big moves started to fly, as did the near falls. If you thought the crowd were loud before then you’d have gone deaf whenever Ace Bennett came close to getting the win. There was a near riot when Bennett managed to connect with the Shining Wizard but Hart managed to kick out at 2. It was less than a minute before Hart locked in the Sharpshooter and it looked like it was done but Bennett managed to crawl to the ropes. The referee forced Hart away giving Bennett time to get to his feet and when Hart went after him again he was caught out of nowhere with the Syracuse Drop. Literally a split second before the referee counted 3 Hart kicked out, sending the crowd into raptures. Ace again went for the Syracuse Drop but this time Hart countered and managed to lock in the Sharpshooter for a second time. Ace held on but just couldn’t get to the ropes a second time and had no choice but to tap out, giving Kevin Hart the victory! The crowd went crazy as Kevin Hart was awarded the International Championship, raising it into the air as the crowd applauded a possible match of the year. *****

Good start to the show there with Zeke losing out to Daniel Sinn, I say do something with Zeke, I could see him as a strong midcarder if used well. The Sinn/Shamrock feud continuing is good. Obviously it's a shame to see X-Jack lose out to Jason there but the X-Jack character isn't the best, if you want you can change his named to his one used in SNW (Jack Joseph) who has similar gimmick but is just simply better. I've always liked Lee Kineval so it's great too see you utilising him well here. The Kinevals are great. Eddy Valintino never seems to get a push, but I like that your establishing some new stars. I've always seen Bockwinkel as big in any promotion so a loss here to Carraway is a big deal, continue to put Carraway. A great tag match next, really liking the lengthiness of it. Good job. Finally great main event, Ace vs. Kevin Hart is always huge and I think every big sim promotion (apart from PTW, as Ace ran that himself) has done it. It never gets old and the loser is never hurt by the defeat. Great show here man, looking forward to more from SCWA.

- It was announced on the official Ring of Honor website that Bryan Danielson has signed a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment and will join the organization in the New Year. WWE have agreed to allow Danielson to finish up his already signed dates before joining them in late December which means that he will be able to finish up his program with Sam Kineval as planned before leaving.

- As SCWA previously announced they will be taping four hour long ‘Free To View’ shows that will go out exclusively on the official SCWA website next month in an attempt to draw in new fans. These tapings have since been announced for the end of this month and will take place in Manhattan following the impressive crowd they got at their recent show. The SCWA have also announced that during these four shows an eight man tournament will take place with the winner gaining a future SCWA World Championship match.

- There was a really good feeling backstage at the Calgary show with how impressive the Kevin Hart/ Ace Bennett match was. Most people see it as being a good sign that the SCWA roster has a massive amount of depth when it comes to creating future main event talent. There was also a good reaction amongst the roster when Kevin Hart won the title, as many feel that he has earned it with consistent top class performances.

- There is some talk amongst the creative team about introducing some kind of authority figure on screen. There has been a push towards more storyline based booking due to the success of the Manhattan Mayhem show and the feeling is that an authority figure would be useful for pushing forward certain feuds. There’s currently no word on who they could possible get for the role although Trace Demon was recently seen meeting with Paul Heyman. The two have worked together on other wrestling projects in the past.

- SCWA has officially parted ways with Dragon and Strieth Shannon. Prior to the roster leaving for the Canada tour both men were taken aside and told that they weren’t going to be needed. Following further talks it was decided that they didn’t have a place on the roster for the two especially with new talent coming in. However both men have been told that the door remains open for their return and both will be joining Pro-Wrestling NOAH for their ongoing tour. Current SCWA Tag Team Champions Trace Demon & Jason Star already work for the Japanese promotion.

Two nights ago in Calgary SCWA made history with their first ever show on Canadian soil. Tonight the tour continues with its second date as all the action of the SCWA comes to Toronto. Tonight Canada’s own Kevin Hart makes his first SCWA International Championship defence and the war continues between The Three Kings and the tag team champions plus so much more.

Last month The Three Kings and Daz, Trace Demon & Jason Star went to war in Manhattan. On that night The Three Kings walked away victorious and many thought that was it. However, the SCWA board of directors disagreed and, just a week after leaving each other bloody in Manhattan the SCWA Tag Team Champions Trace Demon and Jason Star will clash with The Three Kings members Tyler Moxley & Paul Patton. With the history between these two teams this match promises to be a brutal, knockdown, drag out fight.

Two nights ago Canada’s own Kevin Hart became the new SCWA International Champion in a classic battle with the now former champion Ace Bennett. But, in true SCWA style, Kevin Hart will not get a chance to rest as he will make his first defence of the International Championship live in Toronto against one of the most exciting men in the business, Paul London. And while tonight Hart will have to focus on the match at hand you have to believe that Ace Bennett won’t be that far off of his mind.

Bockwinkel. Sanchez. Two names that every true wrestling fans know. Now the latest in these two families seem to have found themselves at war. After Mike Bockwinkel decided to target Duan Sanchez Jnr. following a defeat he found out that Sanchez isn’t going to just lie down and let Bockwinkel come after him. After costing Mike Bockwinkel a match with Harry Carraway two days ago these two men will clash once again.

- Once again an estimated crowd of 1000 people. On par with their Calgary figures.

-- MAIN SHOW --

1) LyNN w/ Matt Dangerous Defeated Assassin w/ Red Dragon in 09:20 with the Springboard DDT. A pretty good opener as two tag team wrestlers faced off in singles action. These two men have very different styles and that caused a few problems but for the most part this was a solid way to kick off the show. There appears to be some sort of feud building between these two teams based off the fact that the Red Assassins have a tag title match when the SCWA head to Ontario because Matt Dangerous kept shouting at ringside about how they deserve the title shot. There’s actually a good case for that now as LyNN took the victory in this one. Following the match LyNN and Matt Dangerous laid both members of Red Assassins out, continuing to scream about deserving a title match. **1/2

2) Jason Williams Defeated X-Jack in 07:32 with the Psycho Driver. This was pretty much a blow by blow repeat of their match two nights ago but the audience didn’t seem to mind too much. Once again the live crowd treated Jason Williams like a fan and X-Jack like a big time villain just for being in the ring against the Canadian native. Decent back and forth match but in the end Jason Williams took the victory once again. Following the match X-Jack seemed to go crazy, viciously attacking Jason Williams from behind and dropping him with The X. X-Jack proceeded to lock in All The Way To San Diego and had to be pulled off by the backstage crew. A lot of heat for X-Jack here, I can see this leading to big things. **

-- We head up to the big screen where we see Sam Kineval walking towards the ringside area with Lee Kineval. Before they reach the entrance Sam wishes Lee good luck, surprising Lee who expected his brother to be at ringside for such a big bout. Sam says that he can’t fight Lee’s fights for him and that he needs to do this one on his own. It’s obvious that Sam just doesn’t want to be near Bryan Danielson but Lee agrees to do this alone and heads out. Sam shakes his head, surprised that his excuses work as the screen cuts out. --

3) Bryan Danielson Defeated Lee Kineval in 13:21 with the Cattle Mutilation. Even with the lack of Sam Kineval’s presence at ringside it was obvious that this was just being used to build towards a Danielson/ Sam Kineval rematch. Despite that this match turned out to be a possible sleeper hit for the night. Lee’s really coming into his own now that he gets to show off a little bit more personality by playing the heel and any rookie errors he made were easily covered up by the more experienced Bryan Danielson. Lee brought out a lot of his older brothers moves which let Bryan Danielson show that he’s been developing counters for every single one of them. Even when Lee went for the Chaos Death Shot Danielson countered it and locked in Cattle Mutilation to take the victory. Following the match Sam Kineval walked out onto the ramp but turned down Danielson’s offer to enter the ring, leading to Danielson locking in the Cattle Mutilation on Lee Kineval for a second time. ***1/2

-- We return to the screen hanging over the entrance and this time see former SCWA International Champion Ace Bennett. It’s a pre-recorded segment taken moments after losing the title to Kevin Hart two nights ago. Keri Thames runs up to him and asks for a few quick words. Bennett is emotional as he says that he gave it his all but that he just couldn’t beat Kevin Hart tonight. He says he can accept that. He continues by saying that he can’t accept watching Kevin Hart walk around with the International Championship until he gets his rematch. Bennett lays an official challenge down to Kevin Hart to meet him in a rematch. –

4) Mike Bockwinkel vs. Duan Sanchez Snr. went to a 30:00 time limit draw. I don’t think anybody was expecting the finish that we got here tonight. What was most surprising wasn’t that these two went to a draw, I think most people were expecting a sketchy finish here, but that these two put on a fantastic match for a full half an hour. There has been a lot of talk about Sanchez not being a consistent enough performer to carry a long term feud while we haven’t really seen enough from Bockwinkel to make a real judgement but this match may just change everybody’s views of both men. These two have very similar styles so this one was built around technical wrestling but the thing about this crowd was that even when they slowed things down and took it to the mat the fans were really into it. Bockwinkel got a little dirty as the match continued and he realized that it wasn’t going to be an easy win but everything he pulled out Sanchez countered. Duan was up top reading to go for the Second Generation Moonsault when the bell rang to signal the time limit. Fans hated this and began chanting “five more minutes” but Bockwinkel quickly rolled out of the ring and headed to the back, ignoring the chants and getting a lot of heat from the fans. ***3/4

- No official return date announced for Toronto.
- Lots of talk amongst the live crowd that tonight’s show has a bit of a different feeling to past SCWA events. Things seem to be a little more storyline based which is likely down to the success of Manhattan Mayhem.
- Daz was announced as the eighth participant in the Top of the World tournament, leaving eight spots remaining.

5) Daniel Sinn vs. Kevin Shamrock never began. There was a lot of hype for this match which meant the end result really split the live crowd. Daniel Sinn was making his entrance when Kevin Shamrock suddenly attacked him at the entrance. The two men brawled towards ringside but instead of entering the ring they took it into the crowd. Sinn looked to be getting the upper hand before Shamrock grabbed a chair and smashed it over the skull of Sinn. Shamrock proceeded to lock in the Whiskey Slumber 2.0 in the crowd and only let go when Daniel Sinn passed out. Kevin Shamrock was escorted away by security while medics checked on Daniel Sinn. NO RATING.

-- We head to the screen again where we see the locker room of The Three Kings. C.G. Gordo is shown leaving the locker room, shouting that he’ll be right back presumably to Tyler Moxley & Paul Patton, before walking off. Suddenly he is jumped by Daz who is still working the psycho gimmick in his feud with The Three Kings. Daz just unloads on C.G. Gordo and the two fight up a set of stairs. About halfway up the stairs Daz uses an overhead bar to grab onto and hit a massive kick to the head that unsteadies Gordo before throwing him over the railing and through a table down below. Daz looks over the railing where Gordo is lying in a broken heap. He’ll obviously not be in the corner of his partners later tonight. --

6 – SCWA International Championship Match) Kevin Hart Defeated Paul London in 17:21 with the Maple Leaf. After defeating Ace Bennett for the International Championship two days ago Hart had a pretty big title defence here tonight against Paul London although anybody thinking that he was going to drop the title here clearly doesn’t follow SCWA very much. Despite the finish being pretty obvious these two had a terrific match which has become pretty much the norm for Kevin Hart who was once again treated like a star in front of the Canadian crowd. Paul London has been fairly impressive in his two SCWA matches and if he can keep it up there’s a chance he’ll be sticking around for some time to come, especially with Bryan Danielson leaving in the New Year. London got in a few nice spots and they reused the ring apron suplex from the Hart/ Bennett match but it looked a little less awkward this time round. London nearly got the with the Legsweep DDT Hart kicked out at 2 and from there it was a rush to the finish with both men aiming for big moves. Hart ended up dodging the London Star Press and locked in the Maple Leaf to take the victory. 1st Defense. ***1/2

-- Chris Hammers hits the ring next, microphone in hand. Hammers says that he deserves another shot at the SCWA World Championship and yet the only two men who have received title shots are two ass backwards Canadians who haven’t done a damn thing. He’s interrupted by Kevin Steen, who tells Hammers to shut his mouth before he shuts it for him. Steen enters the ring and goes toe to toe with Hammers. Steen says that he hasn’t seen anything impressive from Hammers and that if he truly thinks he deserves a title shot then he must be delusional. Chris Hammers says that if that’s what Steen thinks then he should try and prove it. Hammers suggests a match in a four days in Ontario – Chris Hammers vs. Kevin Steen. If Hammers wins he gets added to the SCWA World Championship match between Chaz Classic and Kevin Steen. Steen accepts, saying he can’t wait to shut Hammers up by breaking his jaw before exiting the ring. --

7) Tyler Moxley & Paul Patton Defeated Trace Demon & Jason Star in 23:33 when Moxley used Moxicity on Trace Demon. Another big main event for this Canadian tour as the feud between The Three Kings and Daz, Trace Demon & Jason Star continued here tonight. With C.G. Gordo having been taken out of action by Daz earlier tonight and Daz absent from ringside this one was actually a fair fight for once which meant we finally got to see these two teams give everything they had against each other, and it provided a very entertaining match. Demon & Star are quite an unusual team outside of the ring because they’re such clashing personalities but as soon as they step inside it becomes obvious that they’re a perfect pairing. Moxley & Patton are similar because while Moxley is this grizzled brawler Patton plays the ravishing pretty boy heel and they’re complete opposites inside the ring as well which can either work really well or end up as a bit of a mess depending on who they’re facing. Luckily these two teams have a lot of chemistry and this match showed it. These two teams went back and forth with some excellent spots that really kept the crowd on edge. There was a lot of fans of hometown boy Trace Demon in the arena and he got the biggest cheer of the night when he came off of the top rope with an insane senton to the outside. In the end Moxley caught Trace with the tag team championship belt while the referee was distracted by Patton and Jason Star outside the ring. Moxley followed up with Moxicity to take the win. Insane amount of heat for the finish. ****1/4

Apologies for not replying to this sooner. Really enjoying this at the moment. You've done plently of good shows and I hope you can keep this going into 2012. The stories are all making sense and I am particularlly liking the stories which involve characters, Sam's got Danielson and Red got LyNN and Matt. All the other feuds also look good. Looking forward to Top of the World as I expect it to shake SCWA up. Good luck and keep this up.

SCWA continues their whirlwind tour of Canada as we head to Ontario where there is a huge amount on the line, most of all the SCWA World Championship! Chaz Classic has been on a roll since becoming the inaugural SCWA World Champion and will look to keep that up when he comes to Ontario against Canada’s own Tyson Dux. Dux is an extremely impressive talent who has a very big opportunity to become only the second man to ever hold the SCWA World Championship, and all he has to do is topple Chaz Classic... oh, did we say all he has to do? Yeah, that won’t be easy.

This won’t be the only championship defence that Chaz Classic has to contend with here in Canada, because if he beats Tyson Dux then Kevin Steen is waiting in the wings. But that might not be all. As agreed by Kevin Steen and Chris Hammers these two men will fight it out, and trust us it will be a fight, with the stipulation of if Chris Hammers gets the win, then he will be added to Kevin Steen’s championship match in Montreal, making it a triple threat match! There’s a lot on the line in this one.

On top of that Tyler Moxley & Paul Patton will be in tag team action against Blazing Phoenix just days after besting the SCWA Tag Team Champions Trace Demon and Jason Star. However they will do so without their Three Kings stable mate C.G. Gordo after he was injured at the hands of Daz. With Moxley & Patton looking to send a message I wouldn’t want to be Blazing Phoenix right now.
