Just spent a good amount of time on youtube looking up old promos from around 02-04ish, and damn they used to be so frickin awesome. They really did get you hyped up for the match. This one of JBL/Eddie from JD '04 gave me the chills in a way
Soo awesome. So anyone else have any favorite promos leading up to PPVs? I'm not talking about like guys on the mic or anything, but more so these lead up videos towards the matches. Feel free to post em.

Honestly, the JBL/Eddie promo is much more entertaining than the Rock/Austin promo. It's so much deeper of a storyline than "Hey, I want the belt so I can be the top guy in the company" Good stuff. Here's another one I love which I feel was the last good one they've done to have this kind of impact:

These are my favorite promos of all time. 2001-2004 had the best promos to hype for the matches.

Haha these are some good ones guys, keep it up!
Yes PwR I agree that was one of the last ones where they really used alot of back history to make a good one. And yea, cordless2016 I agree that was def the best range for match promos. I also think with some of them the theme song for the PPV would enhance the video. This one from NWO '03 with Steiner and HHH is pretty good, and I think its "Bring Me To Life" by Evanesence that really makes it even better.
Also if you notice HHH is a part of a lot of the good ones.

I thought this thread would be about interview promos.
WWE/WWF was always the best at putting together a promo package. This I believe also what helped them differentiate themselves from all their competitors. The compelling way they edited it. Just head and shoulders above all.

I loved the 80's/early 90's video packages. Especially the WM III ones for Hogan/Andre, Piper/Adonis, and Savage/Steamboat. Those got you HYPED back then.
