What are some examples of when this is necessary? I'm new to customizing and am trying to learn the different in's and out's and what they're useful for.

It's used if you want to swap torsos or lower bodies

I followed these steps and havent gotten anything but a severely mangled basic figure. I cannot get the front and back to separate.

soak the figure in hot water and be patient. You will have to resoak every few minutes to soften the plastic and loosen the glue. I practiced on a few basics and chipped a few up before i did an elite

I was being patient, and the plastic was so soft i thought the pegs in the joints were going to fall out.

i have problems damaging figures when i do basics. May just be me. I found that since the basics are one long torso, I get chipping on the edges. With elites, I don't have that problem because the torso pieces are smaller and don't torque the center of the piece

it does work for basics. the older pre summer 2012 figures take a little more time in the hot water than the newer figures. I usually take the arms and boots and head off to just work with the harder plastic.

what is the process for simply removing the legs from an elite lower body? do you have to crack the lower body to do this or will they pop off with hot water similar to the arms?

Is there an east way to just pop the torso off a basic without cracking? I want to do a torso swap between basics.

Thanks for the tutorial, its very useful. what is the process for simply removing the legs from an elite lower body? do you have to crack the lower body to do this or will they pop off with hot water similar to the arms? I'd like to hear the answer to this. I've struggled trying to just separate the torso from the lower body, I usually have to separate the whole figure. Anyone have success doing this?

Anyone have success doing this? you can boil and pop off the thigh down of the legs leaving hip portion. making sure that it is hot you will need a sharp blade and on the inner portion you will have to split the small peg.

you warm it up in hot water and put the torso parts together and squeeze them together. if you wish you could put some glue in between the two pieces and then squeeze them together.

Wait is there a way to take off the knees? I know this is a cracking torso thread thing but IDK where else to ask. Please help I am trying to make a Custom elite RVD but the Mr. Perfect Body doesn't have kickpads like RVD does so I want to switch the knee's down to Miz kickpads. - Thanks.
