I agree that it killed his momentum when he lost to Hunter at SummerSlam, but he was still the guy they used to end Hunter's long reign and had 2 clean wins over him on PPV. What? From 1999-2001, he was a mid-carder. He was given a three month reign w/ the Undisputed title that bombed in early 2002, and then went right back to the mid-card. From 2002-2008, he was a mid-carder except for a 2 month feud w/ Cena in 2005. Even when he was given a few world title reigns in 2008, it was more because of a lack of main event heels on Raw, and he quickly jobbed to Batista and Cena, and went right back to the mid-card. Jericho has spent about 90% of his WWE career in the mid-card. Jericho himself has even said that he was never a big draw, and that he never made a big impact on TV ratings. You are making it out like he was curtain jerking the entire time though and that is clearly not the case. He was in several high profile PPV matches over the years, regardless of whether it was the main event spot or not. He has also main evented countless Raw and Smackdowns and is a multiple time world champion. I would say thats pretty good for someone you're saying has spent 90% of their WWE career in the midcard. There is no definitive answer to this question. One person might base the better career around who drew more money and another person may base it on something completely different. It is all a matter of opinion when it comes to these type questions.

Yes, he did main event alot of episodes of Raw and Smackdown, and he did spend most of his career in the upper mid-card, lower main-event, but again, thats the mid-card. After his failed Undisputed Title run in early 2002, he spent the next 6 years right back in the mid-card, w/ the exception of one quick feud w/ Cena in 2005. After the brand split, he always played second fiddle to Triple H on the heel side of Raw.
I am a fan of Jericho and like him far better than Goldberg, but I still think Goldberg had the better overall career of the two.

I just don't understand your thinking. You are basically saying that the quality of a person's career depends on how long he main evented. You are correct that Jericho spent the majority of his career in the upper mid-card (upper being the key word there), but he did have runs on top. Goldberg was the top dog in WCW from July '98 through December '98 and the rest of the time he was either hurt or being wasted. Goldberg was never the focal point of the company again after he lost the title. In WWE, he was only there a year, and just like you said about Jericho, he played second fiddle to Triple H the entire time. Because of this, his 3 month title run was every bit as much of a failure as Jericho's in '02. My point is, Goldberg spent a total of 9 months main eventing in his entire four year career. If you are using this as your basis as to who had the better career, then I would say they are pretty equal, because I'm pretty sure all of Jericho's stints as a main eventer would add up to at least 9 months. As I said in my last post, there is no definitive answer to this question because it relies too much on opinion.

This is about who had the better career, not about who had the better quality. Goldberg was the better draw and always a main eventer. Jericho wasn't. Jericho has been around way, way longer, but that doesn't mean his career was automatically better.

You seem to keep ignoring the parts where people give you examples of how Goldberg wasn't always main eventing.

You people use the word "job" and "bury" too much. Goldberg didnt job to HHH. Didnt he dominate everyone in the chamber that night? Didnt he win at the next ppv ending HHH's 10 month reign? Easily Jericho as he was entertaining n has evolved while Goldberg was boring as hell. "we people" use that term because its 100% correct for what happened to Goldberg. not only did he lose in his hometown but he was BURIED afterwards in a beating that went on forever.it was solid idiocy.his domination in the cell doesnt make up for that. also HHH was injured couldnt really wrestle and STILL kept the title.hence the "job" and "bury".

As i've said in previous posts, its suspect whether he has been a bigger draw at all. Most of the time he was in WCW, he was fighting jobbers for half of his run in the middle of the card. When he was elevated to the main event , Nitro tanked. During Goldbergs run, Nitro won 7 head to heads with Raw over the next 104 weeks. He also wasn't a big merchandise mover.
Comparing the amount Goldberg drew in the 2 years he was in the business vs. what Jericho has drew in the 20+, no doubt Jericho drew more.

Jericho has been around way, way longer, but that doesn't mean his career was automatically better. Bro, to compare two people's careers, you have to look at several different aspects of their work (longevity, titles won, money drawn, merchandise sales, time main eventing, workrate, etc.). That is what I meant by the quality of their careers. Goldberg may have been a main eventer his entire career (he wasn't, see my last post) and drew more money (debatable) as you say, but that doesn't necessarily mean he had a better career. Jericho was around longer, has had several main event runs, has held more titles, has sold more merchandise, and without question has had better matches. If main eventing and drawing money are the only two aspects that make a great career, as you're saying, then Goldberg has had a more succesful career than just about everybody in wrestling except Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and The Rock, which is clearly not true.

Goldberg made an amazing impact in WCW and did ok in WWE. Jericho was entertaining in WCW and made and huge impact in WWE. He also was a succes in ECW , Japan and Mexico. Jericho's career also in doubled what Goldberg's was. Jericho held far more titles. Both had did well outside of wrestling - Goldberg did movies , Jericho with Fozzy, his Xm radio and Dancing with the stars
I voted Jericho
