I'm surpised Crosby didn't get his own entrance with his favorite band playing while fireworks go off as a Jet flys around the arena. What? This is the greatest player evah guys! He deserves it dammit. In all seriousness, one of my friends thought Crosby should get his own entrance and have them have a 10 minute ceremony dedicated to him. A wee bit overboard don't ya think? Silly hockey fan.

Well I sure am glad we get to watch this blowout on VS instead of the Habs/Bruins game...

Well I sure am glad we get to watch this blowout on VS instead of the Habs/Bruins game... What, you're not enjoying the Crosby and Co. Show? Don't tell me you would rather watch a tight hockey game involving one of the greatest rivalries in hockey? You sir, have no hokey taste.

Sidney Crosby, two goals, two assists and Flower posts yet another shutout. I can honestly say I didn't see that coming.

Sidney Crosby, two goals, two assists and Flower posts yet another shutout. I can honestly say I didn't see that coming. Playing the worse team in the league? I can honestly say I saw that coming. So I made a post on my facebook joking about how it was a failure of a night for Crosby. Pretty obvious sarcasm considering Crosby had a great return, hasn't lost a step. One of my friends got mad at me, not getting the sarcasm. I told him to get his Sarcasm Detector fixed and he said I was just upset that a Vancouver player didn't do it. Long story long, I've been snapped on twice when making a joke about Crosby tonight. Oh well, rant over.

Well yeah...it's irritating. Instead of just watching the game, or not, all anyone (not just you) is doing is complaining about everything to do with this game...be it Crosby actually returning, the media coverage or the game swap. I'm just saying...

I'm just saying... To be fair, the entire "shift by shfit' update and how he is feeling every second of every minute is extremely annoying. And it got old again fast. Not everyone in the league wants to hear about his update every second. It was the same way when they didnt know when he could play, every day there was an update on him feeling the same. Just shut up about him and start promoting other talented players in the league and I doubt there would be such a backlash on the coverage. Like I said, star or not Savard and Perron wont get the same coverage when/if they come back. With that being said, Cindy had a good night tonight, no doubt. Kudos to him.

Every sports league in the world promotes its stars, NHL, NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, CFL, NCAA, BPL...Sidney Crosby just happens to be the star of the sport we were watching tonight.
If Crosby were on any of your teams, except for maybe R who I'll give credit to for saying when the Wings get coverage it pisses him off to an extent...I highly doubt you'd take issue with him getting all of this media attention.
If he were on the Flyers or the Canucks, Lightning, Bruins, Coyotes, Kings, Sharks, Ducks or any other team in the league...if he were on the team of any specific fan who was complaining about him returning for the Pens...well, we may not be having this argument right now.

So I know how excited everybody is about Crosbys return and his 4 point night, but it was against the Islanders. I'm more interested when the Pens play against a playoff team or a real contendor, to see how Crosby is health wise. Should be interesting how Crosby can do against a team that will actually play. This isn't a knock on Crosby at all, I just want to see if Crosby is fully back to his old self.

"Crosby cam"
Really NHL.com? I think that the second coming of Jesus wouldn't get as much coverage as Crosby returning.

4 points is 4 points. Doesn't matter who its against. He had no rust, and looked great.

Thank you for that, and Im sure other teams are pissed that Detroit gets that spot too. But honestly, if Phoenix drafted Crosby and got all this media attention that happened tonight, Id be JUST as pissed as I was with Pittsburgh. Like Ive said time and time again, updates during the Boston/Montreal game wouldve been okay. Dropping a promoted game in favor of the Pittsburgh game is ridiculous. What makes better TV? Pittsburgh blowing out oneof the worst teams in the NHL or an even match-up between two hated rivals and Original Six teams, one of which being the Stanley Cup Champions. And you could use the whole "Crosby makes the NHL money" arguement. But lets face it, promote ANYONE in this league and they could make money. The faces of the NHL are essentially Crosby, Ovechkin, and to a lesser extent Stamkos. The only one with a real personality, even though he is a complete arsehole is Ovechkin. There are plenty of stars in the league to promote so you dont over-promote Crosby, some of which like Pavel Datsuk (homerism aside) who has a personality behind the lack of english. Its just like the WWE in that regard. They are pushing Zack Ryder, and he is making them a hell of alot of money, same with CM Punk. I know its not entirely Crosbys fault that they over-promote him, but having huge press confereces stating that you may return this season (something everyone knew) is like having an hour long ESPN special to announce signing with a new team that will get you alot of hate really quickly. Im sure if he asked the media to back off they would, like when he first got injured. As for the whole coverage thing, Im sure if Crosby was traded to Phoenix (never gonna happen) Im sure Pittsburgh would not be as shown as they are now. But I think its more the Eastern bias within the NHL. Notice on NBC they only show Pittsburgh, Washington, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Boston, and Philaldelphia for the "Game of the Week". You'll never see Vancouver on NBC sunday afternoon despite the fact they were the best team last season (points-wise) or San Jose who is sucessful year in and year out, or Los Angeles, or Nashville. Its essentially all big-market teams in the NHL, which feeds into the promotion problem. Bottom line, instead of going head over heels for Crosby and every little movement he makes, promote other players and other teams and they could make so much more money and easily get more fans, especially from the NBA lockout. ...*catches breath*... end rant. **edit** NHL.com is calling tonights game the 'Crosby classic"...

ing ATROCIOUS officiating in the Sabres/Bruins game thus far. Obviously it's a big game that a lot of people were looking forward to, and obviously the Buffalo crowd wants to see the home team win, but give me a break. These calls are embarrassing and one sided. Congratulations on your two power play goals that came from calls that wouldn't have been made if the Lucic/Miller incident never happened.

Red Wings win again, they worked together and pulled of another win. I think they are definately turning round theyre season after that six-game skid.

Wow...didn't expect that from Briere considering his slow start. I wish Meszaros played like that every game, or at least similar effort.

There were bad calls all night but it was hardly one sided. In fact, the Bruins actually had more power plays than the Sabres.

Schneider gets the shutout, solid game. I wish our offence would get moving though. Higgins and Hodgson played really well tonight, same with Malhotra.
